Obituary of Red Crow
Vanessa Jaylene Red Crow (Pohksii pohkah) passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the age of 26 years. Vanessa was raised in Siksika Nation. She graduated from Old Sun College and received her High School Diploma. Vanessa attended Bow Valley College in the Legal Assistant program. Vanessa was accepted to Mount Royal College in the Youth and Child Care program, she would of started in September 2008. Vanessa and her love, Troy, enjoyed playing basketball and spending time with their girls. You could see her driving around the nation and would drive her mom to the city when needed. Vanessa looked out for her siblings, picked them up, and spent time with them. She was a devoted daughter, cousin and friend and most of all an auntie to her cherished nieces and nephews. Vanessa will be missed by her husband Troy Wolf Leg; their children, Arosha, Mya, and Alaysha, god-daughter Faith, god-son Tristin; her parents Bill and Jessie Buller; her father and mother-in-law, Chief Leroy and Marsha Good Eagle; her siblings, Jocelyn (Garett), Danielle (Doug), Adriane, Cody, Jason, Stewart (Tamille), Jack, Zandis, Cory, Sheldon, Solomon, and Jessica; sisters-in-law, Crystal (Dewy), Marla (Clarence) and April (Jason); brother-in-law, Lesley; aunts and uncles, Wesley (Regina), Asteria, Monica, Mona (Paul), Alden (Young-Hwa), Crissy, Jennifer (Warren), Calvin (Verna), Jordon (Tina), Donna, Linda (Ronald), Clayton (Lavena), Flora (Clement), Chuck, Tony, Gabriella (Duane), and Jack; bio-parents, Daniel Red Crow and Becky Cutter; and by her nieces and nephews; Destiny, Betty, Blake, RJ, Kalia, Oceana, Tyrae, Mariesha, Jaycee, Ethan, Aadon, Lakeysha, and Tryden. Vanessa was predeceased by her mother-in-law Darlene Scout; grandfather, Joe Blackface Chief, maternal grandparents; Leona Cutter and Benny Black Horse, paternal grandfather Willie Red Crow; siblings, Natasha and Nathan and by her paternal great-grandmother, Ada Red Crow. Extended Family; Winnipegs, Blackhorse, Cutters, Red Crow, Mayfield, Turning Robe, Yellow Old Woman, Blackwater, Riders, Many Grey Horses, Pantherbone, Big Bulls, McHugh, Plaited Hair, and Bare Shin Bone. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Vanessa and Troy’s (Siksika Nation, AB) on Friday, June 27, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Siksika Community Centre (Siksika Nation, AB) on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside service to follow at Paul Little Walker Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB).
