Obituary of Dorothy Patricia Pieper

Dorothy Pieper (Dodie) (nee Dewar) of Calgary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Born on her father’s birthday in Sheerness, AB, Mom enjoyed living on a small farm before the family moved to Calgary where she attended Connaught School. As a child, Mom and her family spent two years in England and later in life she traveled back to England, Scotland and Germany with her husband Wolfgang. Other travels included Hawaii, Victoria and the Maritimes. Mom is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Erika Anscombe and David and Lisa Anscombe; daughter and son-in-law Denise and Warner Unterberger; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Glennis and Jean Dewar, all of Calgary; and brother-in-law Stanley Neufeldt of Medicine Hat, AB. She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Emily Dewar; brothers, Roy and John; sisters, Violet Gogain, Hazel Neufeldt and Joyce Gammon; first husband (div) Dennis Anscombe and her husband Wolf Pieper.
