Condolences
It has been 14 years since this fine lady passed. I found the obituary by accident. I was a teenager working at Oriental Emporium, my father’s store next to The Boutique of Leathers. Jane would always give me $5 to drive her home downtown after we finished work. I never wanted the money but she would insist; saying it saved her money because the taxi was double. We would have lovely chats in the car and sometimes we would sit talking, even after she got home. A very good soul. Thank you for the memory
Richard
I am very sorry to hear of Jane’s death especially as I have just read a memorial by Kathie Gregory in Tobias Murphy’s honour. My grandmother was married to James Murphy, Tobias young brother in BLANTYRE in 1910, Martha Hunt. James was also killed in France. I imagine she would have known Jane as a child. I hope she had a happy life in spite of losing her father so young. I would love to hear from any of the family
