Obituary of David Rimmer
Dave Rimmer beloved husband of Evelyn Rimmer of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at the age of 86 years.
Dave was born on March 15, 1920, in Calgary and spent his entire life here. Dave served in the Royal Canadian Navy in WWII. Upon his return from the war he started work with the Canadian Western Natural Gas, retiring in 1980. Dave was a long time member with the Canadian Gas Association, Calgary Restaurant Association and Past President of the Calgary House Builders Association. In his spare time Dave enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at his weekend ranch in Millarville.
Besides his loving wife Evelyn, Dave is remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Camille Rimmer of Yakima, WA; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Rimmer and Hugh McNeill of Kelowna, BC; three grandchildren, Adam Rimmer (Karla) of Holly Springs, NC, Travis Ketler of Vancouver, BC and Brett Ketler of Victoria, BC; and two great grandchildren, Colson and Annabel. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Smith. Dave was predeceased by his first wife, Marjorie; parents, Harry and Jessie; infant brother Leslie and brother Robert.
A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
