Condolences
I’m sorry I didn’t know of Ben’s passing until I was thinking of him recently and looked him up to see what he was up to. My condolences to his family. I’d just like to say he gave me a big break when he hired me to data process for him at Eclipse in about 1994. His gesture got me back in the Oil business after a hiatus and I never looked back. He was a tough but wonderful boss and I respected him greatly.
Kindly, Andrew Leuchter – Calgary Canada
Our sincere condolences to all the Berg family. We knew Ben and Carol for many years dating back to the seventies. Photographing his much loved Porsche ‘s will always be a special memory.
Ben’s professional expertise and problem solving talent was always welcome.
And going out for lunch or dinner was
a special occasion every time.
Ann and I were so sorry to learn of such a dear friend’s passing. We went back a long way as you know, early 1960s, singing our way through many an evening. Ben and I left Pan American Petroleum the summer of 1966, I to start a consulting firm, he to start a data processing company. I think we started a trend because 13 geophysicists left that company that summer ! Ben was always issuing challenges to his peers…”Why don’t we do this ?” I consider him to be one of the seismic world’s pioneers and feel privileged to have been an associate and a friend.
