I had the very good fortune of having Fred as a friend since we were in elementary school. Over the years I spent a considerable amount of time in and around the Moriarty household and at the cabin at Gull Lake. I have always had a great deal of respect and admiration for both Catherine and Dr. Joe (who was also my doctor…).

I am sure that there is some relief that Catherine is now at peace and there is no further suffering. However, her loss to you will leave an empty space within. It is definitely the passing of an era.
