So sorry to hear about your mom. We never met, but you always talked about her when you came to see me.
Make sure you look to friends and family in your time of sorrow.
Dear Cliff & family,
I was so sorry to hear about Joan through Kathy Romses.
It was many years ago that we met by Pat Romses introduction & Joan & you were most
welcoming as we were newcomers to Calgary.
My best to you & the family at this time & my thoughts are with you.
Bob and Louise Allan send their sincere condolences to Cliff and family. They will not be able to attend the celebration of Joan’s life but will be thinking of everyone and remembering Joan fondly.
Auntie Joan wasn’t related to me officially but she and Uncle Cliff played such a key role in my life that we called them by these names. My connection with her started when I was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and she started looking after me when my Mom returned to work.
Auntie Joan continued to be a part of my life with phone calls, letters and visits. I knew I could always count on her to be there for me. I feel blessed to have had her in my life and have many memories that I will always cherish.
Love and hugs to Uncle Cliff, family and friends.

It is with a heavy heart that we received your news.
Joanie was a special neighbour and friend. At a time when neighbours might only nod hello, Joan would go further keeping in touch with memorable visits over the years. Talented with pottery and quilting, cooking and gardening, I loved the time spent with her!
Sadly we are unable to join her celebration. Warm wishes at this time with friends and family.
Dear Cliff, Dan, Doug, Caroline and family,
My heart is heavy to learn of Joan’s passing. I have such fond memories and my childhood and growing up next door to your lovely family. A big part of my growing up. I will treasure my recent visits with Joan over lunches at my parents and even phone chats we had over knitting and such. I am sorry that we cant be there with you on Tuesday but we are thinking of you all with much love. Sincerely, Deb (Whittingham) and Dale Schafer
Joan will be missed whenever I watch a TV program we used to discuss, the weekly phone calls, meeting for walks, comforting each other when needed, relating family happenings, and just being a close friend. My tears are already dried, but my heart will hurt.
Love you Joan.
Ann

SO sad to hear this news, Cliff. What a wonderful, interesting, interested, caring lady – very special. I loved being your neighbour all those years ago. My heartfelt sympathy to you, Cliff and the children and grandchildren – I am sure Joanie was a spectacular Grandma.
Love, Hazel
