Obituary of Elizabeth Katherine STONE

September 13, 1936 – Cochrane, Alberta September 20, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta Elizabeth passed away after a brief illness on September 20, 2016 at the age of 80 years. Elizabeth raised her family in the Dog Pound area and was an active member of her community, working closely with the Cremona Elementary School and later with the Grandparents program at the Elizabeth Barrett School in Cochrane. Elizabeth became a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion in 1976 and was later elected as Sergeant-at-Arms and then became a life member. Elizabeth was also a member of the Cochrane Historical and Archival Preservation Society (CHAPS). She looked forward to spending her summers with her grandchildren; swimming, golfing and playing games. Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her family and the many friends who shared her love of golf, curling, cards and travel. Elizabeth is survived by her son Todd Stone and Sue of Anglemont BC; her daughter Heather Tierney and John of Spring Creek, NV; her grandchildren Amber Woinarowicz and Chris of Spring Creek, NV; Reese Stone of Kamloops, BC and Rachel Stone of Calgary, AB, also great-grandchildren Paige and Madilyn Woinarowicz of Spring Creek, NV; her sisters Mary Picken and Helen Shaddick as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Susanna Nagy; her brothers Mike, Andy and David Nagy; her sisters Amy Begg and Vera Mosley; her daughters Judy and Fay Stone and her grandson T.R Smith. Funeral Services will be held at Cowboy Trail Church (101 RancheHouse Road, Cochrane, AB), on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
