Condolences
Dear Diane, Al, Karen, Michelle and family,
Our family was blessed to be able to call Isobel both a neighbor and a close friend. There are far too many memories to reminisce over, from her Christmas cake, chocolate cake and manicured garden, to the beautiful creations made at ceramics classes with Maria. I’ll always be grateful that she kept Maria so well coiffed, even after we moved away from Bayview. A haircut was always an excuse to visit with Isobel and enjoy her afternoon tea with homemade sandwiches and sweets! But my fondest memories are from the trip we shared together to Hungary in the 80’s. She will be deeply missed by all.
May your memories comfort you during this time of grief.
May 5th, such a sad day for you Diane as well as Al and your Family.
I have been blessed to have accumulated 44 years of memories of your Dad and Mom. Mr. “T” handing out candy to our kids on their was to school, Mrs.”T” offering cookies to our kids if they dropped by for a brief visit after school. Your Mom storing Janet’s cigarets in her freezer because she promised me she had quit smoking, Your Dad helping me with so many technical things from plumbing to rebuilding the carburator on my lawn mower. So many memories., no doubt the sadness will pass but the memories are ours to keep forever.
With Sympathy
Jim
Dear Dianne and Al, Michelle, Karen and families,
Our hearts go out to you at this very sad time. We are so fortunate to have known your dear mom, grandma and great grandma Isobel. We couldn’t have asked for better neighbours and friends when we moved into Bayview 40 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Thomson were one of the first homes in the neighbourhood entering with a dirt road. We feel so blessed to have been touched by the many generous and special moments dear Isobel and your dear dad Len shared with us through the years. Isobel was such a talented lady-exceptional cook(of which she shared many treasured recipes),expert gardener(a real green thumb with an immaculate yard), and a loving homemaker. Their door was always open for a visit inside or on the street (it was fun to play shuffleboard downstairs). You knew it was the holiday season as Isobel’s card was always the first received each Christmas!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.

So sorry to hear of passing of Aunt Isobel. I remember coming to visit when I was 10 years old with my Aunt Nancy. Aunt Isobel cooked us 3 minute eggs. I thought that was so cool! I have traveled since then alot and my family eat 3 minute eggs on Sundays for familytime breakfast. Will always remember her and Uncle Len and the great time I had. I know my parents really loved that they were able to visit her! And loved her hospitality. She was thought of just this last weekend, speaking to freinds about Canada. Living far away but still near in thoughts, thinking of you all at this time.
My deepest sympathies to you, Al and Diane. I wanted you to know that after talking to Al, I made a point of greeting Isobel at any opportunity available. I had introduced myself after meeting you at the Manor at lunch and explained my relationship with “her son-in-law”. We had some pleasant, if short, conversations and I remembered you saying it was a difficult move for her. I observed her sitting at dinner with her fellow ladies and I just wanted you to know that she always seemed content and enjoying her surroundings and new friends. I hope I didn’t misread this but I thought it would be comforting for you to know. As your old friend Joe Badyk once advised me “Lee there is only one Mom” I will keep you in my prayers
Lee
