Condolences
Barbara, I decided to search Fred's name today, I'm not even sure why other than for memories. Barb
I'm not sure if you remember me but my name is Chris Cannon and I was Fred's Computer Integration Specialist for his design of the Chimo Watchdog Model 700 for Petroleum Geologists. He even guided me on authoring the manual. I need you to know that Fred was a very large piece of my growth and direction in life. He took me under his wings and I believe with great care and in an effort to push me to be all I could be. I truly loved Fred and though a great deal of him and his way of being a surrogate father to me. I will never forget him and what he taught me along with the support that came with dealing with the corporate dogs we had to deal with daily. I was quite stirred to see that he has now passed. You were a very nice lady when we met and I may be wrong but if I remember correctly you were a nurse. Sorry if I am mistaken but one thing I know I am not wrong about is how strong of a lady you are to be married to such a mover and shaker that everyone knew or jealous of the moment Fred walked into a room. I'm sure many were shocked that such a pretty and petite lady could tame such a man and definitely run for cover if he stepped out of line but not for the rest of the world but for you. Please accept my condolences and I hope Brett I believe is your son has enjoyed a successful and long golf career. Fred was my mentor, I will never forget him. He was a great man and I do owe him for some of the character I posses today. I only wish I could have known when he assented in order to tell him how I felt of the years we spent working together. Best Wishes, Chris Cannon
Barb and family,

Sorry for your loss, I went to SAIT with Fred. Played basketball with him and we worked together at Geoservices many years ago, good memories!
Barb, I was devastated by the news of Fred’s passing and want you to know that if I can do anything for you, or be of any support, I’m here for you.
My condolences to the family. Fred and I enjoyed many rounds in the CSPG over the years, just a great guy
I was shocked and very saddened to hear of Fred’s passing. I’ve known Fred since the seventies when he was running Bearspaw and I was running RGS Consultants. We often worked on wells together.
I have always had great respect for Fred and have many fond memories of those days and of golf stories, fishing stories, and of hearing him speak of his son and daughter with so much pride.
Sincere condolences,
Ron Shirley
