Obituary of Fred OSACHOFF

OSACHOFF, Fred November 12, 1946 – Nelson British, Columbia March 26, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta Fred, beloved husband of Barbara Osachoff, of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the age of 69 years. Fred was born in Nelson, BC and raised in Salmo where he developed his lifelong love for the outdoors. He came to Calgary in 1964 and attended SAIT. After completing school, he worked in the high Arctic. This was the first of many great adventures Fred had. He met his wife Barbara in 1969. They were married on May 30th, 1970. Fred started his company Bearspaw Mud Logging services in 1977 and later in life worked as a consultant in the Oil & Gas industry. Fred traveled the world extensively through business, he and Barb also shared many special times traveling together. He was an ambitious and dedicated entrepreneur, well respected within his industry developing many long-lasting friendships that he truly cherished and valued throughout his career. Fred carried his early love of the outdoors with him his whole life transitioning from a hunter and fisherman to outdoor photography and always had a great deal of respect for nature. Fred’s passion for golf was well known and also led to many friendships. It gave Fred great pleasure to golf with and carry his son’s bag. Fred spent many weekends supporting his daughter’s love of horses and riding. Barbara, Lisa and Brent have many special memories of great family times; he was a dedicated loving husband and father. Those who knew Fred knew him to be a larger than life personality, a loyal and trusted friend – he will be missed by many. Fred is lovingly remembered by Barbara, his wife of 46 years, and by his children, Lisa (Ray) and Brent, his brother Larry Osachoff and numerous extended family.
