Condolences
I knew ken through his daughter Cathy. I worked with Cathy for almost 5 years and Cathy’s Mom and Dad would come by to say hello. Ken was a familiar face in the mall manning the Salvation Army kettle at Christmas and the poppy station in the Fall. I never passed without making a donation as it always gave me a chance to have a chat and receive a positive spin on my day. “Have you seen how tall Cameron and Troy are getting? Almost as tall as Richard.” ” No, I’d say but Tracy and Guy were in the store and they had Jackson with them.” at that point, the conversation got really interesting. Ken had the ability to make a good day and leave you feeling positive no matter what was going on. Truly, a large void has been left by his departure. Irma and team Thwaites, take comfort in knowing how many lives Ken touched and made better just by being himself. Thinking of you all, Wendy.
So very sorry for your loss. Although we did not know him well, we would often see Ken walking his dog around the neighborhood and stop for a quick “HI, how are you”. Your neighbors at house 72.

I am so sad to hear about Ken’s passing. My thoughts are with you at this time . I am glad to have known Ken for many years.
Irma,
We are beyond sad to hear of Ken’s passing. We constantly think of him and you and your
family since you shared the news with us. He was a very kind, caring and gentle man. I already miss seeing him & Toby walking down the Blvd. everyday. He will be greatly missed.
Irma
Judy and I send our condolences to you, your girls and all the family and friends. We miss talking with Ken when he would walk the dog along Douglasdale Boulevard SE. In the summer he would carry water for the dog along with his newspaper. Ken was a gentle man with a big heart for everyone. Ken was “Mr. Volunteer.” Ken was a wonderful example of the best of humanity both to his family and to everyone who crossed his path. We will continue to say prayers both for Ken and for you and your family. It is not often that you meet someone like Ken. God bless. We will always remember Ken.
Irma

Nothing in life meant more to him than his family who will dearly miss him as will all who have had contact with him during his interesting career. Although we are unable to attend the funeral, our sincere condolences are with Irma and the family.
