Our sincere sympathy to Suzanne and all of the family. We were so surprised and sorry to hear of Doug’s passing. As we have known Doug for so many years we know you have lost a very kind, fun and loving Husband and Father. We hope that your fondest memories of Doug help to bring you some comfort at this difficult time. John & Tom Carey, long time neighbors and friends from Winnipeg.
My deepest sympathies to Suzanne and Doug’s entire family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Doug’s sudden passing. I was fortunate to work with Doug many years back in the construction industry – he was a great mentor and friend. His patience and kindness helped guide me in business and I frequently sought his counsel. I ran into him several years back and we caught up quickly. Even after many years his energetic welcome made me feel like it was days not years. In recent years, unfortunately, we had lost touch. I hope you can find peace in the memories and the stories of the people he touched in life. Doug had an impact on a young executive trying to find his way, in life he made a difference. May he rest in peace eternally.
I was so saddened to hear of Doug’s passing. I had the privilege of working with Doug many many years ago at Aronovitch & Leipsic at the beginning of what would become an illustrious career for him. The years passed, Doug and Susanne moved away and we lost contact, but I never forgot the good times many of us shared while working there. My husband Richard and I express our deepest condolences to Doug’s family. He was definitely one of a kind!
Suzanne, Sara and Megan ,
On behalf of Caron, Brendan, Sam and myself, sincere condolences from the Stewart family on Doug’s passing. While our lives and families have drifted apart, we have very fond memories of our days raising the kids in the 300 Signal Hill Point cul de sac. Doug was a central figure in the neighbourhood and larger than life. Watching over the kids and our homes as well as organizing and participating in informal and more organized social gatherings. A very special time in our family’s life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Suzanne, Sara and Megan,
My deepest sympathies to you on Doug’s passing. I’m remembering fondly golf games with Doug at Elmhurst where we were never at a loss for conversation (really it was Doug talking and the rest of the group listening) and restaurant reviews. We will all miss him dearly.
Our thoughts and prayers. Doug will be missed greatly.
Suzanne and Family:
We were so sorry to hear of your sudden loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Doug was a man who always made his friends feel special and even with the passing of time could pick up the conversation like we talked yesterday. He will be missed.

So hard to put to words the sorrow that is felt in the passing of a person admired by so many. I was not fortunate enough to have known this great man but I am fortunate enough to know his daughter Megan and her husband Collin and can only imagine through Megan what a great person her Dad was. I am so sorry for the lose this family has endured and send my sincere condolences to all. We will be making a donation to the Calgary Humane Society in his honour
