Obituary of Douglas Arthur MCGREGOR

October 11, 1954 – Winnipeg, Manitoba February 18, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Doug McGregor. Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Suzanne Laurin; his two daughters, Sara (Chris Piattelli) and Megan (Collin Toews); his mother, Barbara McGregor; sisters, Janice and Ann (Allan Roehl); brothers-in-law, Roland (Mary), Gerry (Gisele), Ron and Lionel Laurin; numerous nieces and nephews, and his many friends. Doug was predeceased by his father, Vernon McGregor, and his special little pup, Bailey Claire. During the course of Doug’s 40-year career in Commercial Real Estate, he worked on the landlord, tenant and brokerage sides of the real estate industry. Doug always described himself as a “people person” – relationships, whether with family, friends, clients or peers were very important to him, and many of his professional relationships have become lasting friendships. Doug had an enormous capacity to love his family and friends and to enjoy life to the fullest. His keen sense of humour will be missed tremendously. His interests were numerous and eclectic, and included golf, gardening, cars, music, reading, travelling, the Calgary Stampede and Rodeo, ATV rides while on holidays, and watching any movie he could find with a Medieval or dragon theme. Above-all Doug was a devoted husband and father. His love for his wife was boundless, and he considered his daughters to be his most precious legacy. He always made sure that his “three girls” knew how much he loved them. The family would like to thank the 911 Operator, the EMS Personnel and the Emergency Ward Team of the Foothills Medical Centre. They would also like to acknowledge and thank their friends and Doug’s friends for their incredible showing of love and support. I love you, Dougie. We love you, Daddy. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W.
