I never had he opportunity to meet Ben but I did have the pleasure of listening to his son Grant tell me about how proud he was of him and all that he taught him. Especially his love of the outdoors.
My heart goes out to Grant and Barbra and the rest of their family and friends.
I send my deeepest condolences on the loss of my long time friend ….we met in 1949 at Garbutt Business school in Medicine Hat and then together working for Mannix for many years. He will be fondly remembered. Sending sympathy to Polly and his family.
Dear Polly and Family:
We were saddened to hear of the passing of dearest Ben–had a nice visit with him at the Quarter Century Club in September, and as always, he had an indomitable spirit and was taking his recovery from surgery in his stride. Many people, us included, who worked with Ben at some point during his decades at the corporation loved our interactions with Ben…he was solid, kind, always helpful, positive and lead by example. We’ll miss that smile, that twinkle in his eye, and most of all his big heart. Our sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to you and your family, Ruth and Dirck.
