Obituary of Lauren Ann UNSWORTH

August 3, 1938 – Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan December 19, 2015 – Okotoks, Alberta A violet by a mossy stone Half hidden from the eye! Fair as a star, when only one Is shining in the sky. – William Wordsworth Lauren Unsworth beloved wife of Gary of High River, passed away on December 19, 2015. Lauren was born in Moose Jaw, SK and grew up on a family farm in Baildon, SK. She attended and graduated from Central High School. Lauren did post graduate education at the Providence Hospital where she completed a Registered Technologist degree. Lauren worked at the Swift Current General, Vancouver General, Kaiser Center in Hawaii, and spent 25 years with the Calgary Diagnostics and the Calgary Medical Labs where she retired as a supervisor. Lauren loved the outdoors – hiking, skiing, and golf. She spent 15 years at the Timber Ridge, Invermere taking advantage of the outdoors where she developed many friendships. She was very proud of her two daughters, Jill and Lisa, and followed their soccer development through the University of Calgary and Internationally. Lauren was a fanatic traveller having visited 33 countries. She enjoyed travelling with her friends and particularly with her spouse, Gary. Lauren met Gary in 1959 and they were married in 1961. Their special relationship lasted 57 years. Besides her loving husband Gary, Lauren is survived by her daughters Lisa (Brad) of Portland Oregon and Jill (Neil) of London, England, also her sister Joan McCann of Parksville, BC and nephew Ian McCann of Victoria, BC. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the many people at the Foothills Country Hospice who helped Lauren through her journey.
