Obituary of Arthur Art Edward LUGG

February 10, 1936 – Strathmore, Alberta December 3, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta Arthur passed away suddenly on December 3, 2015 at the age of 79 years. Art is survived by his son Chris (Krista Moore), grandson Carter, and daughter Tracy (Glen Homeniuk), and his two brothers, Jack (Dorothy), Albert (Rosemary), and three sisters Violet Christianson, Jean (Albert Van Wyke), and Joan (Glenn Bounds). He was predeceased by his loving wife Carol, and both parents Annie and Stanley, and brother Harvey. He was born in Strathmore Alberta, and later moved to Calgary to start his career, and then married Carol. His entire career was working in the Oil and Gas Industry for over 35 years. During that period he was highly involved in curling and the Oilman’s Bonspiels. When the kids were growing up he coached hockey and baseball, and volunteered at the community center to flood the outdoor rinks. Art was able to retire at a young age, which enabled him to enjoy his bigger passion of golf on a full-time basis which he enjoyed immensely. Everywhere he and Carol travelled whether it be BC, Spokane, Hawaii or Palm Desert their golf clubs were always in tow. He liked to have fun and enjoyed life to the fullest, and had many friends to share his passion and spirit. Family was very important to him, and he had the luxury of seeing a lot of long distance relatives just before his passing, which he truly did appreciate. Art could be relied on for many of us to receive a phone call to wish you Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversary or whatever you had to celebrate, he wanted to celebrate with you, even if just on the phone. Art will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him, but will remain forever in our hearts. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
