I looked up Judy today with the intent of calling;

I looked her up because I was confident that her number had changed since I got one of her fridge magnets some twenty years ago.

I was in utter disbelief upon reading of her passing.

It might seem cliche to write in response to an obit. that she was so young - but it is true, this was very young to have passed.

Judy was my mom's friend, so I knew her trough my mom;

For for a phase in Judy's and my mom's lives, she was over at our house a whole lot.

I am sorry that I didn't see her before she passed.

I am grateful to know that she was strong in her faith.

I am grateful for having known her.

I am grateful for having known her well enough, that I could just call out of the blue and rely on good advice.

I will fondly remember her taking my brothers and I to the drive in theater (I am the eldest of three) - at the time, it was a pretty neat thing.

Judy, My dear friend , like my sister . I just found out about your death. My heart is aching so bad as I have tried for the last year to call or get in touch with you and just no luck and now I found out your with your GOD. Oh how I have missed your smile and the fun we used to have in Sturgis at the Rallies. You were the one true light that always shined on everyone you ever met . A heart of GOLD and a Friend/ Sister I so truly miss. Raymond, I never got to meet you , but I remember the conversations we had when she said she 1st met you and fell in love with you !!! I looked forward to some day we all getting together some where if not the Rallies and just enjoying time spent together. If you get this Letter Raymond, please do call me. I live in the town where Judy & I first met. I found all of our pictures together about 4 months ago and have tried to call , now I know why I could not reach her. Guess I can talk to her in Heaven some day and we can re visit and enjoy all our laughs together.

My heart is with you on the eve of Jude’s passing. I miss Judy every single day since she went to Jesus … She was a best friend to me and so many others that it would not be countable. I remember times that we were heading out for supper and she saw someone lonely, homeless or just lost… she would excuse herself from our party/group to go and talk with the person that was desperately in need. I have witness her praying with these perfect strangers and slip some Biblical Scripture and twenty dollars or so for food and or bus fare. There will never be another Judy. I feel so blessed to have had Jude’s in my life and my daughter’s life. Heaven must be so beautiful… I have been told that in” Heaven you are living the time of your life’. I can hardly wait. Dearest Ray, Linda and families,

The pure joy and love that Judy carried with her each day while she was here is a testament to her connection with Christ. I will miss our conversations and her ways of sharing her personal stories. Judy was our Realtor professionally, but after 10 years became a real friend. Through highs and lows in life we re-connected off and on and it was never about a ‘deal’ or an ‘investment’ but rather what was happening in our lives. Judy became a counsellor, friend, and mentor to many I believe she met in her career as a professional realtor.

I personally think she missed her calling as a minister, but found her voice and service in life anyway.

In the 25 years I knew Judy I can say that I trusted her judgement and I treasured her, and I always looked forward to visiting her.

Both Mitch and I had the pleasure of knowing Judy these past 15 years together, and as a couple adored her ways and her smile and warmth as a person.

We are so happy to have known Judy and will treasure her memory forever.

Raymond, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. You are such a caring and loving person, one of the ones I always looked up to as a young piper. It seemed clear to the PNW piping community that you and Judy cared very deeply about each other. You were lucky to have found each other and I’m sure she was blessed to have you by her side in her final moments in this life.

Judy was one of a kind and even though I had not seen her for awhile I will miss her smile and cheerful voice. I met Judy when she was in Medical Sales and I was a Lab Tech. She helped me transition from the lab to sales and later, she became my realtor. My deepest sympathy to Linda, Ray and Family.

I tried to do this last weekend but my math skills were incorrect and the message disappeared ,so I will try once again.

I also worked at Westman lab with Judy many decades ago . As one of the single girls,we sometimes found ourselves enjoying refreshments ,either after work or on the weekend. Judy always knew everyone in the bar. Her smile and good nature always lit up the room. Having coffee with a friend in Onanole today we were talking of losing friends too early and Carol asked if I was talking about Judy as she was a friend of her sister. I want all the family & friends to know Judy was loved by everyone she knew.

We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of Judy Rodewald. Judy’s sister Linda is a member of our church congregation and our prayers are with her as she mourns the loss of not only a sister but certainly a blessed friend and confidante. So sorry to hear about Judy. She was a friend from long ago and the best real estate agent I ever had while living in Calgary. I will always remember her warm smile and spirit. She was truly a good person!

I worked with Judy in Microbiology at Westman Lab for the time that she worked there. I remember her always having a big smile and a happy demeanor.

We had a machine that measured the CO2 level in blood culture bottles. High CO2 meant possible growth. We often put the bottles on the machine to read and went for afternoon coffee. When one returned from coffee, one looked to see how many red lights there were to indicate the high level. One day, Judy returned to many red lights and she said, “Holy Cow, it’s Las Vegas!!” We used that term often in the years that followed.

When Judy moved to Calgary, she sold some of her clothes. We all found something no matter our size or shape. I got my first (and I think only) pair of designer jeans.

Judy will be missed by everyone who knew her. They were all her friends. Keep her memory close in your hearts.

Dear Linda and Ray, these words describe Judy. She was a bright light wherever she went; as she let Jesus’ Love, Kindness and Truth shine through her!

Judy was not a respecter of persons – she treated everyone the same – even the poor, begging children in Belize. What did she do? She took Bibles to them, and then took them all out for ice cream cones! She did it all in the name of Jesus…There will be people around the world missing her when they hear she has gone from this Earth, as wherever her foot touched, she shared the Joy of Christ in such a special way! I can certainly learn from her her boldness and love!

We send our Sincere Condolences to you both who so faithful and tenderly helped her through these very hard times. We would have been there, but I needed to see my 87 year-old Mother in Calif. whom I hadn’t seen in 4 years, and then family from France came for a few wks, so we just couldn’t make it to be of any help, and we’re truly sorry.

Linda, I saw this in the paper this morning and my heart broke for you. I remember the closeness between you and your sister from when we were growing up. Linda, I cannot imagine how awful this must be for you. I was grateful you and Judy were able to come to our place a few years ago, as it was so nice to see Judy again. Our deepest sympathies to the Galloway and Rodewald families. I worked (and played) with Judes in Brandon along with Sylvia, Kathy and the rest of the gang. I was deeply saddened by the news of Judes passing. My heart felt condolences to her family and friends. I worked with Judy at Westman Lab. Her outgoing and cheerful personality had a positive impact on everyone who worked with her. Judy had a way of brightening everyone’s day!

I had the privilege of working with Judy in Microbiology at Westman Lab in Brandon. Judy was always smiling, and laughing or giggling, and helped to make Microbiology a fun place to work. Judy was also a very dedicated and conscientious lab technologist.

I will always very fondly, and with laughter in my heart, remember a certain Hallowe’en when Judy decided a small group of us Microbiology techs should go to a local Hallowe’en party dressed up as “Dose Busters”. Judy’s flair in putting the costumes together was amazing, and we had an absolute blast at the party.
