Obituary of Ivan Cyril OLSON

June 8, 1946 – Biggar, Saskatchewan October, 19, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Ivan Olson passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side after a battle with lung cancer on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the age of 72 years. Ivan moved to Calgary in 1972. He worked at SAIT for approximately thirty years, as an employee and as a contractor. Ivan’s most recent position was an HVAC Supervisor for Johnson Controls where he worked exclusively at SAIT. He retired in 2014. Ivan loved working at SAIT and took great pride in working with new employees and showing them the ropes. Ivan was a huge sports fan and loved playing sports when he was younger and watching sports with family and friends. Ivan’s favorite vacation spot was Mexico and went there whenever he could. Ivan also loved spending time with family and friends and being there for whomever whenever he was needed. We will miss him, and remember him often, always with a smile and a warm full heart. Ivan is lovingly remembered by his children and their spouses, Richele and Brian Moore and Brett Olson and Liz Spencer; his three grandchildren, Connor Williams, Verina Olson and Chael Olson; his brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Katherine Olson; his niece Carla (Darrell) Bourgette, nephew Darcy (Theresa) Olson and niece Nadine Olson. Ivan is also survived by his wife Tracey Olson and her son Owen Nakamura. Ivan was predeceased by his first wife Linda Olson, parents Conrad and Lillian Olson (nee Kusch) and brother Wendyll Olson. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY () on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
