Condolences
Very sorry to hear of “Mister Makar” s (as he was known to me) passing. I hope the Makar family can take comfort in remembering the pleasant memories and upbringing they received from their Dad (and Grandpa) and Mom (and Grandma) in making them the great people they are. I have fond memories of spending time at their house and Mr. Makar allowing Gary and I to drive his big Dodge around the neighbourhood when we were learning how to drive. My heartfelt sympathies to Mrs “M”, Dale, Gary, Donna, and all the grandkids.
Pete was a faithful attendee to our twice-annual lunch for Gulf Retirees, and for many years he provided the valuable service of phoning a list of his colleagues to confirm their attendance. We last saw him at the lunch in October. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. Peggy Simons
I was very sorry to hear of Pete’s passing. I started my first job at Gulf in 1982 on Pete’s floor. I am partially deaf and Pete took me under his wing, watched out for me and was a wonderful mentor. I have a lot of pleasant memories and just wanted to let you know that I never forgot his kindness.
May God Bless.
Dear Donna and Family:
You have always had a very special place in our hearts and we grieve with you knowing just how much your father meant to each one of the family. Please express our deepest sympathy to them all.
Dear Dale & Ilona and boys;
Our deepest sympathies on the loss of such a great father figure. He was always a presence at our boys hockey games cheering on in his jersey.
To my dearest Helen and Family,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Pete will be fondly remembered by his big personality and his big loving hugs. If you need anything please do not hesitate to call anytime. Kim and I can come and take you for lunch or a coffee date. You are all in our prayers and thoughts much more than just our everyday prayers. May the Lord help and guide you through these times. The brightest star above twinkling at night will be Pete winking at all of us.
