To Thom’s family: we have never met, but I just wanted to write you a little note to let you know just how much Thom meant to me and many other people, and how much he inspired happiness and love for everyone who surrounded him.

There is no words that can express my deep sympathy for your family at this time. I know first hand how much he meant to me, so I can only imagine what he meant to you. I share in your pain and I hope that you will learn to heal, and please remember he’s not really gone as long as we remember him. That’s what he would want us to do.

I loved Thom like a brother and a friend, and I will never forget the beautiful light in his soul. His name is written on my heart forever, as it is on all the people who’s lives he touched and made better.

I just heard of Thom’s passing. Very sad to hear. I met Thom back in high school. Too young to hear of his passing. Thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Our deepest condolences to the Garvin family on the passing of Thom at such an early age. I first met Thom in Fort McMurray in the late 1980’s when he and his brother (s) operated a small business. Whenever I would meet Frank, he always told me how proud he was of his children. He had Thom contact me when he became a broker and we have been dealing with him ever since. He would call you late at night or on a Sunday afternoon with an enthusiastic voice, with updates on his ongoing projects. He will be missed but not forgotten. Thanks Thom for crossing our path and God Bless You.

Such sad news of Thom’s passing. He was a special person who lived life to the very fullest. I will always remember him fondly and cherish the good memories we shared. My thoughts are with Frank, Susan, Tim and Chris and their extended families. I am sad I cannot be at his memorial but I will be there in spirit.

I had the pleasure of working with Thom and the privilege of calling him my friend. Thom was a character of great character who will be missed by many! He will live on in our memories, our stories and those jokes that only Thom and Thom alone could ever ever get away with telling. For a man who’s sense of timing was second to none, it truly feels like he left us too soon.
