Condolences
Hi there,
I was so shocked to learn of Doug’s passing. He and I went to school together, Christmas Park Elementary in Montreal.
We didn’t travel in the same circles, but we shared a birthday. We also lived across from each other on Lakeview Rd in Beaconsfield, Qc, for a short time.
My sincerest condolences to your family.
Mike
Deepest Sympathies. .Wishing you much comfort at this difficult time.
Warmest condolences to the Larder family on the occasion of this loss.
-Andrew Wiggins and staff at the dental office.
It was so hard to hear of Doug’s untimely death. I worked with him throughout his career at Future Electronics and he was a dynamic and kind hearted individual. His life was far too short. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My deepest sympathy to Sarah and his children – he loved you all so much.
Dear Larder Family… I was so saddened to hear of your Doug’s / Dad’s sudden passing last week. I have known Doug professionally for about 8 years, and that man loved to laugh and make others laugh along with him. Doug also holdS a special place in our thoughts… last April, we lost our son of 31 years to a very sudden and unexpected passing, and Doug was one of the very first people to leave his condolences, with very touching remarks. I met Doug about two weeks after that to thank him for his kind thoughts, only to be greeted with a hand shake and a hug. That is the kind of man I will remember Doug for. You will have many “milestones” to meet in the coming year where he would have been a very big part of. It seems that the more you love, the more you will hurt. Rest assured that he is in the very best of company and companionship at this moment.
Our deepest sympathies. May God comfort you, and may you find some peace in the special memories you have.
Blessings,
Sandra and Ray Holmes

I would like to send my deep condolences to Doug’s immediate family, as well as to his huge family of friends on the West Island of Montreal. He was inextricably woven into a lot of people’s lives.
My sincere condolences to all of the family. Doug was my Manager at Future Electronics and many co-workers and myself have fond memories working beside him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
I am so sorry to hear the loss of Doug. Doug was my first manager at Future. He was a bright compassionate man. Always focused on the positive. My deepest sympathy to Sarah and the children. He was so proud of his family.
I was deeply saddened to hear about Doug’s sudden passing. Please accept my condolences on your loss.
To the Larder Family
My sister and I were deeply saddened by your loss of Douglas. He was a great kid growing up across the street from us. A memory that comes to mind was that Douglas would always come over to our home and play with our family dog. He even took care of our dog when we went on vacation. Another memory that my mom used to tell us about Douglas was when my sister Kathleen came running home one day from the place we called the hills, situated near our home in Beaconsfield and she needed help because Douglas (age 5) was stuck in the mud puddle up past his knees and could not walk out, his billyboots were full. Mrs Larder and my mom particularly enjoyed sharing that story…it always seem to make them laugh. Douglas was always a kind and gentle person.
May being surrounded by so many great family memories with Douglas, bring you great comfort.
Our deepest condolences,
your Beaconsfield neighbors,
Maureen and Kathleen Horan
We were very sadden to hear of Doug’s passing, please accept our sincere condolences. Wishing you peace as you grieve this loss.
My sincere condolence at the departure of your loved one. He was one of the greatest poets in our high school and a great friend to have. Truly sorry for your loss. May he be remembered with fondness. May he rest in peace.
Dear Family and Friends,
I am very sorry to hear about your loss. Doug was the ideal co-worker in every way and just a great person he will be greatly missed. Please let me know if I can help in any way.
Sarah, Claire, and Christopher, you are in our thoughts and hearts during this unbelievably sad time. We had such a wonderful visit last summer and it truly was the highlight of our trip! I am so glad we got to spend time with you and Doug, and wow, he sure could cook a steak! We send you all our love and support.
-Lynda, Colin, Ronan, and Kate
My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.
Although it has been 33 years since High School Graduation, I will always remember the Bright, and witty conversations we often had at our lockers between classes.
My Heart Felt Condolences Celia Lum (Class of 82 – MacDonald High School)
My deepest sympathies for your loss.
Although I did not keep in touch. I very much remember Doug from our time together at “Mac High”. He was a nice guy that seemed to always have a smile.
My deep condolences to all of Doug’s family and friends. My high school memory of Doug was one of an intelligent, honest and upstanding Man. You will be deeply missed.
My deepest sympathies. Doug and I sat together through most of our school days. Very sad to know he has gone.
I can’t believe he’s gone. I’m sorry, Sarah. I’m sorry that your partner was taken away so young. I’m sorry that your children are robbed of the years they should have had with their wonderful father. Laura and I are still stunned at his sudden departure and we send our deepest sympathy.
Doug was a life-long friend and one of the best. We went to primary school, high school and CEGEP together and I spent much of my time in his company during those years as well as the years he lived in Montreal. He was well known for being intelligent, witty and generous. He was always calm, collected and resourceful even when under stress. He was industrious and hard working but he also knew how to have fun. And I had many fun times with Doug.
Doug, I have so many fond memories of you… but I regret that I didn’t make more. And now it’s too late. Goodbye, Doug. My life would have been very different without your friendship. In the words of Spock (which you were sometimes called), “I have been and always will be your friend.”
