Condolences
We have just learned of Dr.Wharton’s untimely death and wish to extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family – and especially to Elaine. We often thought of Dr. Wharton and wondered how he was enjoying his retirement – he took such excellent care of our family over the years and we’re not sure if he realized how much he was respected. Condolences to Elaine and family. He was a great Doctor, and a great person and friend.
Elaine;
I’m so sorry for your loss, I have missed seeing Dr. Wharton since his retirement and that day he handed over that huge medical file of mine going all the way back to 1972 at age 13 my first meeting with him for High School football medical. We won’t find caring Family Dr.’s like him any more. We had some very nice chats over the years, every time I came in, any you would always knock on that door or come into his office to remind him that others where waiting. He was always there for me to listen. He always came to visit me in the Hospital, during all my surgeries and could always find me no matter what hospital. I will remember him for all his caring and the personal touch, guidance and advice he offered.

Dear Elaine,
My sincere condolences to you and your family. Although I have not seen David since I left private practice 10 years ago, I have fond memories of David. He was a very caring physician. I remember long discussions with him in the hospital hallways about patients, politics, his children etc etc. Also Elaine, I remember our connection when you worked in a Nursing Home, and your beautiful red-headed daughter who worked weekends at Willowpark.
I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts will be with you in the days to come.
Sincerely Pat Martin
Our sincere condolences to the entire Wharton family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most difficult time. Thinking of you.

Elaine, we offer our sincere condolences to you and your family. We have thought of you often over the last few years. Dr. Wharton was wonderful to us, our children and our ‘Mothers’. You both made us feel welcome and he cared very much how we were, took the time to listen and to comfort. We enjoyed our visits and our discussions with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and family during this time.
So sorry for your loss. Dr. Wharton was John and my Doctor and he was absolutely wonderful. We missed him after he retired. My condolences to Elaine and family.
Dr.Wharton was our first physician after we arrived in Canada in 1973 and gave our family caring, considerate and excellent care until we left Calgary in 1988. He made us feel welcome at his surgery, and was always interested in hearing about our family travel adventures. ..in fact his first words on an office visit would be to ask us to describe our latest automotive or camping disaster …and he listened!
He made us feel like friends, not just patients.
We are sad that he’s no longer with you,
He was a gentleman.
We are so sorry for your loss. David was a wonderful man and a wonderful neighbor to Mom and Dad. Mom remembers times when David would come over to see what she was up to, or would come over to show her a new “toy” or a project he was working on. She was telling me about the time that you came over to give Beau our cocker spaniel a haircut…hair all over, you were both covered. We are grateful for all the years that he was our family doctor. He took such good care of us. You
always knew that David cared. Today’s doctors just aren’t the same. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry for your loss *hugs* I don’t really know what to say. His presence filled the room, and he never let me do/take something without telling me all the pros & cons, and then arguing with me until I could see what he was trying to get across. He showed he cared, proved it with every word.
He was a good man, and my favourite doctor. He will be missed, there are not enough words in this whole wide world to say just how how much.
My love, my thoughts, my prayers are with you <3
