Obituary of David John WHARTON

September 14, 1942 – Edmonton, Alberta December 2, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta David beloved husband of Elaine Wharton of Calgary, AB, passed away on December 2, 2014 at the age of 72 years. David was a wonderful Friend, Excellent Physician, Devoted Husband & Father. He Graduated from the University of Alberta in Medicine in 1966. He moved to Calgary with his new wife Elaine and was in the first residency program for Family Physicians at the Calgary General Hospital. David was a Family Physician for forty-two years in private practice as well as on staff at the Holy Cross Hospital and the Rockyview General Hospital. He enjoyed learning the latest in medicine even after he retired in 2008. David loved discussions and debates with anyone about any topic at any time. He loved to travel and collected cameras. David enjoyed working on various home projects in his garage. He was an active member of Southwood United Church. David will be remembered for the love of his pets; dog Hershey and cat Dennis who already miss him dearly. David is survived by his loving wife of fourty-eight years Elaine Wharton; daughters Tracy (Stan) Siudy of Calgary, Dorene (Troy Young) Wharton of Toronto; son, Tom (Jenice) Wharton of Calgary/Blackfalds; grandsons, Spencer and Zac Siudy of Calgary. David was predeceased by his parents Gwendolyn Wharton and John (Jack) Wharton of Calgary. The family would like to thank the Foothills Hospital Emergency, Neurosurgery, ICU and Calgary Metro EMS for excellent care during his traumatic brain injury.
