Obituary of Doreen Anne NORMANDEAU

NORMANDEAU, Doreen Anne November 3, 1946 – Saskatoon, SK November 9, 2014 – Calgary, AB Doreen Anne was born on November 3, 1946 to James and Verna Turner in rural Saskatchewan. Sadly, she and her sister, Linda lost their father when they were still very young. Doreen always cherished the short time she had with him. As a young and very beautiful woman, Doreen had her pick of suitors and chose a handsome young man, named Dave Normandeau. In 1971, they moved to Calgary and were married shortly after. They enjoyed several years together before settling down to have kids. In 1979 they had a son, which they named Tyler David James. Two and a half years later in 1981, they had a baby girl which they named Tanya Anne. Doreen had been working as a Secretary for the Calgary Police Service for many years but it was very important to her to be at home with her children, so she quit that job and dedicated herself full time to being the best mom two kids could ask for. Doreen always ensured we had the best of everything, especially when it came to food. She spared no expense and enjoyed making nutritious and delicious meals for us. Doreen suffered from a multitude of different ailments over the years but she never wavered in her faith that God would make her whole again. When most others would, she never complained or felt sorry for herself. She never stopped working to be better, healthier and have a stronger relationship with God. She was always smiling, happy and ever grateful right up to the end. She had the most loving spirit, a true passion for helping people and the strength to conquer any challenge. It was only her body that failed to keep up. I know we are not alone in saying that she will be dearly missed. She touched so many lives in such a positive way and we are blessed to have known her. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
