I just learned of the tragic news about Scott. I am so incredibly sorry that you are going through this. I wish you strength as you deal with everything and I wish you peace, eventually.
Take care,

Dearest Lorraine, Aunt Dorothy and John
While words are all we can offer, know that the depth of feeling behind them is immeasurable.
John and I had a great evening out in London (UK) a few years back. We reminisced for hours about the truly fun and free times our families spent together in Finch! Scott and I would drive Uncle Ken mad with the sheer number of model plane, boats and cars we could build. We would run back and forth to “THE STORE” to replenish models, glue, paint, paint brushes, sandpaper what ever we needed to make another masterpiece!
Though I suppose it was a relief to have at least 2 of the 6 kids occupied and not pestering Aunt Dorothy for more cookies or what ever tasty delights that were awaiting in that big old country kitchen! I believe we spent 2 Christmases in the Finch house, I’m quite sure we all wanted to spend just one more day every time we visited. I remember these as some of the happiest times for our family.
We all are thinking of you.
With Love Ralph

Dear Lorraine, although we did not know Scott we share in your grief on this occasion of bereavement, with deepest sympathy.
Dear Lorraine. I am a cousin of Scott’s; the daughter of Ken’s sister Agnes. What a lovely story you have written about Scott’s life and achievements. I am very saddened by the news of Scott’s death. Along with my brother Peter I have great memories of family visits to the big house in Finch, with so many stairs and rooms, and across the street to the bowling alley. Since Ken was responsible for introducing my parents to each other Scott’s family is special to me. Last year I spent an ancestry day with cousin Kathy visiting the cemeteries and working on the family tree. After our visit to the Finch cemetery we got a bite to eat at what appeared to be the only sit down restaurant in Finch. Inside were some older gentlemen having a coffee and we struck up a conversation with them in the hopes of getting some family information. The MacMillan family is still remembered in Finch and one of the gentleman had been in the same grade as Scott at high school. He described Scott as being “a brain” and that would concur with my young impression of him as well. It was nice to see that the fond memories of the MacMillans are still alive in Finch after so many decades. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Aunt Dorothy and Cousin John at this time. Susan
Scott was a bright, capable and interesting individual. We had the privilege of having him on our TBGi team for four years, providing security consulting to clients here in Calgary. I always enjoyed speaking with Scott; he had such a thorough understanding of his area of practice and was open to sharing his knowledge and explaining complex material. He was just such an all-round gentleman and nice guy… He will be missed.
Lorraine, I am a cousin of Scott’s, the youngest of Agnes’s kids. I was very sorry to hear of his passing. I was very young at the time but I do remember a lot of laughter and fun times when we visited Finch. It truly was a gathering of Clans when the Macmillan’s and McKay’s got together. My thoughts are with you and Aunt Dorothy and Cousin John at this time.
Dear Lorraine,
So very sorry to hear of Scott’s passing. We are all thinking of you at this sad time.
Sincerely,

I am so sorry to hear of Scott’s untimely death. He & I worked together at BP for several years and in particular collaborated on creating security policy & standards documents, at one point in a follow-the-sun approach when time was tight. I found him a gentle, honourable and thoroughly decent gentleman – perhaps I should apologise for the Englishness of that description! – with a great sense of fun, occasionally quite wicked. Time spent working with Scott was never dull and never wasted; I respected his judgement greatly. Of course there’s nothing I or anyone else can say to ease the pain of his loss so I can only wish you my deep sympathy and best wishes. I know he will be greatly missed.
Steve
I was very saddened to hear of Scott’s death. I well recall the work that Steve Thomas describes where Steve, Scott and other members of my Security team at BP worked with Scott on the security standards. Of course the bulk of the work fell on Scott which he took on with consummate skill and dedication and a 12+ hour day he didnt let on about until later. I think Scott liked not being able to be pigeon-holed, one moment he was a communicator creating his own security awareness CD programme completely unaided, then on came the lawyer skills picking over detail and creating very complex company standards. When we visited Calgary, Scott was our proud host. Lorraine, thank you for lending us Scott, we so enjoyed working with him. You are in our prayers at this difficult time.

Dear Lorraine, we were sorry to hear of Scott’s passing. We have great memories of times shared, both professional and personal. I knew he was a polymath, but I had completely forgotten the Honors chem–memory failure runs deeper with some people. Glad to hear you got another dog. Give Charlie a pat for us. Our deepest sympathy.
Sincerely
Ron & Jean Fenerty
Lorraine, I am Scotts cousin, although we never stayed in touch over the years, I am saddened with his passing. My condolences to you, and Charlie. I see in reading his story that we shared many interests. Kirk
Dear Lorraine: So sorry to hear this unexpected news. I know my father enjoyed having Scott for dinner while he was a student in Ottawa. It was fun to see you both and John and Denise at Aunt Dorothy and Bill’s 25th wedding anniversary party. It must be a big shock for you and Charlie and know that we are thinking of you at this sad time. Christie, Richard and Kathy
Heartfelt condolences to Lorraine, Aunt Dorothy, Cousin John, the Shore and Grant Families, and Charlie, during this time of sadness. May your many memories of Scott bring comfort to you. Sending hugs.

Lorraine, I am cousin of Scott’s from Eastern Ontario. I am very saddened to hear of his passing . As youngsters when our families spent many week- ends together, Scott and I would often go on long hikes along the Nation River between Berwick and Finch. Always lots of fun. I now live in the area and as I pass by the old house in Finch I very much enjoy the memories of the Macmillans and Mckays getting together. My deepest condolences to you.
Dear Lorraine,
We remember Scott as a brilliant and articulate person who was most certainly a wonderful chef and a friend to all animals. His quiet demeanour matched the sparkling personality of his wife. We hope for some peace and comfort for you, Charlie and Moses at this sad time. With love, Sue and Bill Bradley
Our deepest condolences on your loss. Scott will be missed.
