Condolences
Michele, sorry about your great loss and that of your family. I hope the healing process has begun. As you can see by some of the notices above, Bill was very much appreciated by his colleagues at university, including myself.

Michelle and family
Although Bill and Michelle too, might never have come to quite understand the impact that Bill had on so many of his generation – I too was one of many!
Bill, along with another good friend Bill Anderson, mentered me though my introduction to the outside world. At the very least, it was a “first” that was a real adventure. The 3 of us left UofM classes immediately at the end of 1st week of 3rd yr – and arrived in Montreal for Expo 67. It was truly a life experience in every sense and your Bill was the more worldly of the 3 of us and to him fell the role of a little sheparding of 2 prairie boys. It was a bonding time that I have forever cherished.
Bill and I became sometime partners in a debating league and I was always amazed at the agility of his intellect that drove his mastery of the debate – it was often a marvel to watch!
There was always a celebration of life and friendships that eminated from Bill and made him a friend to all. I am proud to have called him Friend and fellow 69’er …. Ray

Michele and Carmen and family……although it has been many years since I worked with Bill at Percy Pegler, his picture brought back many memories. I was very saddened to hear about his passing at such a young age. Carmen and Melanie were friends in Elementary. Bill was always so fun to work with and the kids all loved him. My thoughts are prayers go out to you and your family……Hugs……Wendy and Ron Gilmore
We are so surprised to hear of Bill’s untimely passing. There was never a dull moment working with Bill in the Bronco building in High River while Joe Clark School was being built. He always participated in special days and was a hit with students and staff when he dressed up as the court jester for Halloween. We fondly remember one summer when the four of us visited Bill, Michele, Carmen and Alex at their cabin in Kenora…so much laughter and fun! Bill’s sense of humour and his positive outlook on life will be missed. We are blessed to have known him.
Michele, Carmen and Alex,
I am so sorry to hear about Bill’s passing. My sincerest condolences to all of you.
Michele and family,
It is with great sadness that we have heard of Bill’s passing. With his inimitable smile and outlook on life he was always fun to be around. Who was Bill? Friend, mentor, coach, teacher, leader and all-around great guy!!! Always positive about life. Who can forget the parties almost every weekend at 44 Arlington. And Bill could debate with the best and win. His design of the sixty-niner T-shirt was indeed brilliant. The world has lost a truly great guy. Bill will be missed. Love and condolences to you Michele, to Carmen and Alex and their families.
Dear Michelle and family, I am so sorry to hear the news about Bill. His loss for all of you is immeasurable. You’ve all been and will continue to be in my thoughts during this difficult time. Tina Brakke.
Michelle and Family,
Our Condolences to you and your family, I was so happy to read that you would be going for a short while to A P . We are so sorry that every thing just changed so quickly.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Michele and family,
We are shocked and saddened by news of Bill’s passing. Even though it has been some time since we visited with him he was never far from our thoughts. We will always remember Bill and his compassionate and thoughtful ways of working with some of the most challenging students in Foothills School Division. When other colleagues were ready to give up on a difficult student Bill would offer a positive approach to working with the individual.
We always enjoyed Bill’s sense of humor, which he brought to our professional and personal conversations.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in these difficult times.

Michele Day and Family,
Rita and I are saddened by Bill’s passing! We pray for God’s peace, understanding and comfort for you, as you mourn the loss of your beloved! It was a privilege to have taught school with Bill at Turner Valley and Joe Clark. He was always gentle, kind, thoughtful and respectful with his colleagues and students. He had contributed greatly toward the learning of English among ESL students, whose parents he had also befriended socially.
Rita and I still remember the warm Christmas Party you and Bill had so graciously hosted for the Turner Valley staff at your beautiful acreage home near Okotoks. Take care and God bless!
Michele:
I was greatly saddened to learn of Bill’s passing away. I have so many fond memories from time we were together as “69” Aggies at U of M. While I saw little of you and Bill since 1969, our laughter-filled evening together at Eagle Lake a few years ago showed how close a bond we had developed during our Aggie days. My condolences to you and your family.
Doug Clements
We are saddened to hear of the passing of cousin Bill. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you Michelle and your family.

My condolences to you & your family. With my wife Eileen’s passing from cancer on Sept. 9th, the shock of Bill’s sudden death must be terrible. Bill was always highly esteemed by students, parents, colleagues, and administrators alike. Jim Finnman
Michele,
Surprised and saddened by the rapid passing of Bill. I spent a great deal of time with Bill in university, as you know. They were happy times. Although I saw less of Bill since then because of distance, I always felt that we were still kindred spirits and could pick up wherever we left off.
It was great to have you both at the ’69 Agriculture 40th class reunion in Winnipeg and our occasional rendezvous in the Kenora area.
We will miss him greatly.
Love Bill and Fran Anderson
Michele, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Keep all the good memories close to your heart. May this help to ease the pain. We will miss seeing him at Alamo Palms especially practicing his swimming in the pool.
Elaine and Nick
Michele and family, So-so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. Always loved seeing his smiling face while walking Zoe, in the swimming pool and serving coffee so eagerly at Alamo Palms. Had many an interesting conversation with him and you and all who knew him will miss him. Just remember “Don’t cry because it’s over, SMILE because it happened”, Bill always had that SMILE and it won’t be forgotten. All our best, Russ & Tammi Greer–Grinnell, Iowa/Alamo Palms winter friends.
Hi Michele,
Shocked and saddened to hear of Bill’s passing. Being in the class of 69 from the UofM, we (69’rs) have lost one of our special people. Bill will always be remembered for his easy smile , ready wit and his love of having a good time. I am so glad we reconnected in Texas a couple of years ago.
Terry and Lucille Highmoor
Deepest sympathy to you and your family.
Bill will be sorely missed!
Eileen and I were saddened by Bill’s passing. Although it has been many years since we last saw him, my memories of his whole family are so fresh in my memory. We will think of you all lots tomorrow. We are off to Thunder Bay to visit Jesse and Dana and their 4 kids. Wishing you well and pray that Bill will be surrounded by love. Respectfully, Jim and Eileen
Hi Michele,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Bill and I taught in the dusty upstairs of the “coral building” while Joe Clark School was being built. It was his great sense of humor and wit that kept us going in that dusty, noisy setting. Each day as we climbed those rickety, creaking stairs he had a few jokes to get us off on a positive start to the day. Bill was a wonderful, one of a kind guy. Of course the fact that we both had a Winnipeg background just further forged a strong collegial bond. Bless all of you as you go forward with many, many wonderful memories of a man who made a very positive difference in all the lives of so many students, colleagues and friends,
Michele and family,
Since receiving your e-mail this week, I have spoken about Bill to many of our friends here in Minnesota. Just last night I was telling a neighbor how you and Bill would leave warm Texas and go home to COLD Canada every December to spend time with your kids and grand kids. You left early this past winter to meet up in Wisconsin. These family memories will be cherished forever. Here’s what Dick and I will remember…Bill’s smile, the best made coffee in the Valley and one of the nicest neighbor’s on Granada Street! Carmen and Alex…always remember that a father and grandfather’s love is a special gift that will live forever in all your hearts! We ache for all of you. Hopefully your happy memories will bring you sunshine during the dark times ahead.
With sympathy and friendship, our love to all of you,
Dick and Kay
Please accept my sympathy. He was a kind man and a wonderful teacher.
To Michele, Carmen and all the family: Our sincerest condolences on Bill’s passing. He was a fine man and a great example to many, during the years I knew him as a teaching colleague at Foothills Composite High School. He is sure to be lovingly remembered by the many friends he made in the course of his life’s journey. Our thoughts and prayers go with you all.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I have so many pleasant memories from my time in Manitoba with you and when you visited me in Mississauga. Bill told me that he was looking forward to retirement so he could spend more time with you and that he never grew tired of your company. I’ll never forget that sentiment!!! I also remember the car trip to your wedding. We had a lot of fun. I wish you peace, and love. Sincerely Margaret
Michele and family, our sincerest thoughts are with you.
Linda and I remember Bill from camping and partying and good times whenever we were together. I so remember him as a colleague at the Composite. We were there together from the school’s startup in the 80’s.
We looked forward to seeing you in Blackie every spring when you, and we, got back from snowbird country. It is so sad and so unexpected. Much love to you all.
Please accept our sincere sympathy in the passing of Bill. Such a very sad time. May the care , concern and prayers of others help you in this time of sorrow. We will be missed in the park for sure.
My love and prayers go out to Bills family. As a colleague in Foothills School Division our paths crossed many times. He was always positive, caring, and had that special way with the kids who were fortunate to be with him!

Michele & family
We were so surprised by the sudden passing of Bill. We were looking forward to seeing him in Texas, as you said you might be able to come for a short visit. We will greatly miss our poolside chats, coffee etc.
Here is a poem that I like , that seems appropriate
God looked around his garden and He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face .
He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best
He closed your weary eyelids and whispered, ” peace be thine”
He took you up to heaven with hands gentle and kind.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
Part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
Janice & Eric Vanneste
