Condolences
I am very sorry to learn about the loss of Bill. I remember working for him at Bonar Packaging. He would shake hands with all the staff at Christmas time. He would also acknowledge the good work ethic of those working for him. I hope all his family and friends can endure this loss.
Bill’s passing will be sad news to his Scottish friends who had the privilege of knowing him through his work
In Calgary. Although their work association ended some 40 years ago many continued to value his friendship
through his visits to Scotland for many years after their work association had finished. It was a measure of Bill’s character that he was liked and admired by all who met him. A man of great warmth and gentle personality he was a good friend to my family and myself. Our visit to the Rodeo with him and
his adored grandchildren, and my initiation by him into skiing in the Rockies will be memories I will never forget.
A true friend whose memory will be long treasured.

I interviewed and was hired by Bill in 1978 and worked with him until his retirement. Bill was a great mentor and
lead his management team with class and grace. Always a mediator of the many disagreements that would
inevitably erupt between our many personalities, he refereed those issues to resolution. Bill and Mae hosted many
Christmas Parties, Grey Cup parties and company functions at the Glencoe Club always wonderful events. Bill's late
Friday afternoon meetings were loud affairs where more than a few were tipped back. I have very fond memories of a
very classy guy. My condolences.
