Kathie & Greg, I remember with much fondness all the happy times spent at the Ukrainian Hall with your mom and members of your family. All the concerts we performed in Calgary and other cities like Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg as well as those rousing bus trips to travel to those locations. The Christmas parties and other get togethers where everyone sang Christmas and Ukrainian songs and played musical instruments. Marian was a lovely lady and made those occasions special just by being there.
I remember how your mom very kindly helped me get a job with the post office one year as Christmas help. Although I only worked there briefly, the memory of that lingered through the years as it was one of my first paying jobs.
I'm sad that I won't be able to be with you at her funeral. Know that I'll be with you in spirit. May your many happy memories of your mom comfort you. With much affection, Kathy (nee Shworak) Francis.
