Obituary of Sarah McRae Campbell Driver Smith STEWART (nee Mitchell)

May 3, 1938 – Glasgow, Scotland
January 8, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Morag Stewart was born May 3, 1938 in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter to Sadie and Johnny Mitchell, passed into God’s hands peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the age of 81.

Morag’s greatest joy came from raising her four children, she was an amazing mother; nurturing and providing support and guidance that filled their lives with love and gave them confidence to follow their dreams. Music filled her soul.  She was a pianist, singer, children’s choir director, and was once a member of the Gilbert and Sullivan Chorus and the Bonavista Players. She especially loved to swim and always took the time to talk to people and remember their name.

Morag is survived by her children, Fiona (Cody), Jennifer, Heather (Geoff) and John (Marlis); and her four grandchildren, Fischer, Jason, Owen and Hudson whom she adored; as well as, her brother John Mitchell (Margaret) and their three children, Lisa (Carlos), Julie (Dayn), Ian and their children Malcolm and Emma. She was predeceased by her parents, and her loving husband John Stewart.

Her loving and kind spirit will be greatly missed! A Memorial Service of remembrance will be held at Deer Park United Church (77 Deer Point Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the church.
