Obituary of Barry Gordon KENDRICK

December 9, 1963 – North Bay, Ontario
January 19, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Barry Gordon Kendrick, beloved husband of Lana Kendrick, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the age of 56 years. Barry and Lana, whose love for each other was everlasting, were married on August 12, 1988.

Barry was particularly proud of his accomplishments in the airline industry. He graduated as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer from Centennial College in 1987. His work took him to Wardair, Canada 3000 and Skyservice, where he spent his last eighteen years. Barry touched the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of working with him. He was a true professional, who kept people safe in the skies for many years.  

Barry’s entire life revolved around the love for his family.  There wasn’t a sacrifice that he wouldn’t make and he always spoke very fondly of them.  The family often took trips to the mountains to enjoy boating, watersports and fishing. Barry even accomplished his goal of wakeboarding last summer.

Barry will be most remembered for his great sense of humour, kind genuine soul, friendly helpful nature, life lesson stories, compassion and selflessness.  He always made you feel welcome, no matter who you were, or where you came from.  He had a talent to make you laugh and lift your spirits, no matter what the circumstance.

The world has lost a great man and an even better friend.  A great man taken much too early.

Barry is survived by his loving wife Lana; their two sons Matthew and James; as well as their family dogs, Bentley, Sharpie, and Lulu.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m.
