Obituary of Barbara Elizabeth MILLAR

Barbara Millar, beloved wife of Allan Millar, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at the age of 90 years.

Barbara, affectionately known as Barb, was born in Provost, Alberta. Barbara received her Bachelor of Science degree in Household Economics from the University of Alberta in 1951. She took the time to travel abroad to the Caribbean, South America and Hawaii. After travelling Barbara took an internship at the Toronto General Hospital, later working as a dietitian at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, before starting her family. While raising her sons, Barbara worked as a member of the Welfare Review Board and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed spending time hiking and skiing in the mountains, travelling the world and always kept the door open to entertain family and friends. 

Barbara is survived by her husband, Allan; sons, Colin (Moira) and Bruce (Alison); and grandchildren, Amanda, Aidan, Jaime and Riley. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Frieda (nee Tiffin) and Charles Harford.
