Obituary of Irene B. BEDDOES (nee Hehr)

January 17, 1932 – February 1, 2020 

Irene B. Beddoes, beloved wife of the late Donald Beddoes, of Airdrie, AB, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the age of 88 years.

Irene was born on the Hehr family farm near Crossfield, AB. She married Donald in 1959. She was a member of the Crossfield Baptist Church and always enjoyed volunteering in the nursery holding and playing with the babies. Irene accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Irene enjoyed all sorts of handicrafts and loved the challenge of learning a new craft.  She was a very accomplished cook, quilter and could often be seen knitting or crocheting items for charity. Irene and Don enjoyed many winters golfing in Phoenix.

Irene is survived by daughter Marj Sutherland and her husband Earl, their children, Drew (Alyssa) and daughter Rory, Alix (Shan Claydon), and Jaye; daughter Marlene Cox and her husband Peter, and their children, Emily and Michelle (Ben Moody). Irene is also survived by siblings, Roy Hehr, Freda Tilleman, Ruth Berreth and Florence Boquist; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her close friend Darlene Hehr. Irene was predeceased by her husband Don in 2009; her infant son Gordon in 1970; her siblings, Mervin Hehr and Stan Hehr; and her dear friend Carole Timmons.

Funeral Services will be held at the Crossfield & District Community Centre  (900 Mountain Ave, Crossfield, AB,) on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Community Centre.
