Obituary of Shirley Margaret ARMOUR

January 18, 1935 – Regina, Saskatchewan
February 9, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Shirley Armour of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the age of 85 years.

Born and raised as Shirley Margaret Clements in Regina, SK, she married Gerald Duane Armour on Dec 3, 1955, in Moose Jaw, SK. Her eldest daughter Kim was born there in 1956.  Her son Hal was born in Calgary, AB, in 1957. From Calgary, the young family moved to Dawson Creek, BC. Daughters Karen and Wendy were born in 1959 and 1960 in a neighbouring town of Pouce Coupe, BC.

In 1967, the family moved to Fort McMurray, AB, where Shirley embarked on a successful career in Real Estate and property management.

Shirley was a founding member of Fort McMurray’s Open Stage Society, hosting many drama and theatrical productions. She accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even one beautiful great-great-granddaughter!

Shirley found retirement in Calgary, AB. She enjoyed travelling to family reunions and visiting family across Canada. She also took many trips to Cuba, which was one of her favourite places.

Shirley is survived by her three daughters, Kim Coleridge of Fort McMurray, AB, Karen (Larry) Morrow of Calgary, AB, and Wendy (Chris) Moores of Fort Saskatchewan, AB; her son Hal Armour of Edmonton, AB; eleven grandchildren, Jeremy (Mandi), Kelsey (Danny), Jacob, Jordan, Kerry, Nikki (Travis), TJ (Robin),  Justin (Tammy), Tania (Daniel), Tami (Shayne) and Travis (Jenna); twenty-one great-grandchildren,Calvin, Mikayla, Jack, Katie, Kieran,  Shaylyn (David), Ryley, Hailey, Maya, Simon, Brandon, Briah, Ashton, Nixon, Alora, Gracie,Willow, Jace, Jake, Benjamin and Oliver; and her great-great-granddaughter is Hazel.

Shirley is also survived by her siblings, Frank (Pauline) Clements of Regina, SK, Charles (Kathleen) Clements of Winnipeg, MB, Marie (Clark) Downey of Guelph, ON, and Susan (Terry) Schneider of Regina, SK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Shirley was predeceased by her sister Catherine (Harry) Barrett of Swift Current, SK, brother John (Rosa) Clements of Brantford, ON, and her parents, Frank and Mary Clements of Regina, SK.

A Celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek Hospitality Centre, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.

All are welcome to attend a Graveside Service at a later date at the Regina Cemetery (4th Avenue and Broad Street, Regina, SK) where Shirley will be interred with her Mom.  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Shirley’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
