Obituary of Cecilia Carol RINGSTROM (nee Paulsen)

March 19, 1948 – Calgary, Alberta
February 14, 2020 – High River, Alberta

Cecilia (Cec) Ringstrom (nee Paulsen) of High River, AB, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the age of 71 years.

Cecilia, lovingly known as Cec, was born in Calgary, AB, on March 19, 1948. Cec married the love of her life, Finlay Morrison (Butch) Macdonald in 1986. As a young lady Cec started breeding and showing Dobermans.  She became a renowned Doberman breeder and all-breed handler along side her husband Butch. Later in life they started breeding Papillons.  After retiring from handling, both Butch and Cec turned to judging in 1991.  Both were International Dog Show Judges having assignments all over the world on six Continents. Cec judged for over twenty-six years and all would agree, she loved dogs, and she truly had a love for the dog show world.  One of her highlights was judging at the Westminster dog Show.

Cec is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Andie Ringstrom-Dares and Jeff Ringstrom-Dares of High River; daughter and son-in-law, Lorelei Bexte and David Bexte; and four grandchildren, Kyle, Keean, William and Annalise. She is also survived by her brother Alex Dickson (Lynda), sister Gaye Painter, lifelong friend Doug Ringstrom (Val), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be missed by everyone who was blessed to have met her. Cec was predeceased by her beloved husband, Butch on March 18, 2016, as well as her parents, Carl and Cecilia Paulsen.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
