Gerald GULLICKSON

Obituary of Gerald Edward GULLICKSON

November 17, 1944 – Edmonton, Alberta
February 20, 2020 - Calgary, Alberta

Gerald left his earthly home and into the waiting arms of his personal Savior, Jesus Christ in the evening hours of Thursday, February 20, 2020. His journey was peaceful with his family by his side.

Upon retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1986, Gerry owned and operated a local country restaurant in Landmark, MB for fifteen years. It was best known for being “Home of the One Pound Spud”. It was here that many local young adults had their first job experience. After selling the restaurant in 2008, Gerry enjoyed travelling west, camping and watching his grandkids play their various sports. His final year was spent in Calgary where he enjoyed the mountains and the simpler lifestyle.

Besides his loving wife Elaine, of fifty-two years, Gerry is survived by his five daughters, Sylvia (Mike) Bockstael, Tanya (Clay) Bromm, Penny (Myron) Vogt, Angela Gullickson-Garringer, Sandra (Derek) Peacock, two sons Bruce (Kira) Gullickson), and Randy (Vanessa) Gullickson. He was a proud Grandpa to nineteen grandchildren and their families, who will best remember him for his teasing and pocket full of life saver mint candy. Gerry was predeceased by one grandson in 2001.

Special thanks to Dr. Novak and the amazing staff at the Rocky View General Hospital ICU for their kind care and compassion to Gerald and his family.
