Obituary of Terrance Wayne GOWING

Terrance Gowing, of Calgary, AB, passed away surrounded by his loved ones, on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the age of 69 years after a brief and unexpected battle with AML.

A graduate of the University of Calgary in Civil Engineering, Terry enjoyed a long and successful career as a civil engineer in BC and AB.  Terry and his wife, Myrna, loved to travel and managed to see a lot of the world over the years.  His biggest love, though, was his family and nothing made him happier than when they were together, whether it be Sunday dinners, birthday lunches with his sisters, summer holidays in Parksville, or something bigger like fun in the sun in Mexico.

A loving husband, proud father, and devoted grandfather, Terry is survived by his wife Myrna and his children Scott (Megan), Kevin (Joanna), and Andrea Kletchko (René).  He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Noah Wright, Hanna Gowing-Wright, Marissa Gowing-Wright, Josh Gerber, Scott Gerber, Madison Kletchko, Jessica Kletchko, and Cadence Kletchko; brother Don (Patricia), sisters, Hazel Davies, LaVerne Whitman (Paul), and Yvonne Campbell; sister-in-law Sandra Taylor (Mark) and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents Angus and Thelma Gowing, his sister Delores Workman, brothers-in-law Vern Davies, Chuck Workman and Jim Darragh; and granddaughter Finley Gowing.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
