Condolences
Dear Mike, Rob and Bob,
I was hoping to see you today and let you know how much I admired your Mom(wife).
I knew ML in university and took to her the moment she smiled and gave her distinctive laugh. A person who had a heart with unlimited space for so many people.
My son Jeff and I were fortunate to meet ML again in Calgary wherein our sons would share university time and space. You all share her generous heart and gave her so much pride. She loved her 3 guys!
I am so very sorry not to be there today but I woke in the night with the sore throat. With regret and respect I am staying in. Know that Jeff and I would be there if we could......Trish & Jeff Bietz, Calgary/Ft McMurray
Dear Bob and family, Ken and I are deeply saddened to learn about Mary Lynne’s passing. We have lost a bright light that’s for sure. I will miss her warm smile and hearty laugh, and we sure shared a lot of laughter for all those years when the “Russian Wives” gathered for support and friendship. I will miss seeing her at the Trico, she always made my time at the gym more enjoyable!
Please accept our deepest sympathies and may you find comfort in the love you share with your family.

It was my pleasure to work with Mary Lynne at Western Canada High School, from 2002 until her retirement. As a teacher, Mary Lynne was determined to help each and every one of her students succeed. Her deep caring for her "kids" was evident in everything she did. As a colleague, ML was always there to share her wisdom, her resources, and her teaching expertise. Working with her was also a lot of fun. Her laugh came easily, and was very infectious. She was definitely one-of-a-kind and will be missed by many. My deepest condolences to her family on this enormous loss.
Sincerely,
Debbie MacNaughton
Warm Blessings Bob & all the family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Mary-Lynne’s passing. I had the pleasure to teach and to coach the Debate Club with Mary-Lynne at Western Canada High School. Mary-Lynne was an exceptional teacher and colleague! She loved all her students and always went above and beyond her teaching duties for them. She was very well liked and respected by everyone at school: admin, colleagues and students. Mary-Lynne was always happy and always laughing very loud. Her laugh was contagious. She made a difference in many people lives. She will be missed.
With heartfelt sympathy,

Mary Lynne, or "ML" as we affectionately called her in the Social Studies department at Western Canada High, had a reputation of being able to successfully mentor even the most challenging students. She filled our space with positive energy, an infectious no-BS attitude, and a fantastic sense of humor. For example, I'm recalling a "7 Dwarfs of Menopause" cartoon above her desk! Super smart lady, too. She was a mentor for me and a colleague that could be counted on to 'have your back'. Folks like that are rare and I'm saddened at her passing- although I expect she made the most of every minute of her (too short) retirement! Thanks ML. xo
Mary Lynne was a bright light and a caring teacher. I cherish many years of laughter and positive energy while teaching with her at Western Canada High School. My heart is saddened by her passing. Sending love to her family at this time. Merrill Gray (Edlund)
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Mary Lynne at Western Canada High School. She was a skillful and talented teacher, a wonderful student advocate, and a lovely colleague. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and send condolences to the Phillips family.

I was shocked and saddened to read of Mary Lynne's passing. I taught with her for many years at Western Canada. I remember her as a superb teacher, loved by her students and admired and respected by her colleagues. She cared deeply about her students and was a positive influence on so many lives. I am dumbfounded to think that she has been taken from her family and friends at such a young age.
I will be with you in spirit at the celebration of her life. I recently returned from Asia and do not think it wise to attend public functions at this time.
