Obituary of Susan Michelle DEERING (nee Dykstra)

March 3, 1971 – Nanton, Alberta
March 10, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

With great sorrow, we are saddened to announce the passing of Susan Deering, surrounded by family at the age of 49 years. She passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at the Foothills Country Hospice, after being diagnosed with cancer in 2013.

Susan graduated with a business degree from Mount Royal College. She enjoyed working in a marketing capacity for various companies throughout her career. Susan was known for her infectious smile and her kind heart. She loved to travel, her greatest joy was family vacations, with her favourite place being Maui, Hawaii. 

Susan was the beloved wife of Kevin and mother to two wonderful children, Paige and Mitchell. Susan was a blessing to us all and is lovingly remembered by her parents, Adrian and Judy Dykstra of Nanton, AB; sister Deanna (Eric Young) of Calgary, niece Jessica, and nephew Colton; as well as numerous friends and extended family. Susan was predeceased by her younger brother Bryan. 

A Private Celebration of Susan’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.For those wishing to view the service, a recording will be posted below the online obituary following the service.
