Obituary of Phyllis Ann HAZLE (nee Morris)

July 25, 1930 - Bengough, Saskatchewan
March 15, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

With great sadness, we announce that Phyllis Hazle passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the age of 89 years. 

Phyllis was the youngest of Leonard and Jessie Morris's three children, all whom are now together in Heaven. She married Arthur in Regina in 1952. They had Craig and Scott while still in Saskatchewan. After moving to Calgary, Susan and Brenda joined the family. Phyllis was a stay at home mom who devoted the prime years of her life to her family. Once her children were older, mom spent many years working at the Chinook Bowladrome. Mom's kitchen was her kingdom; her home was always open to neighbours and friends. Mom was an avid knitter; she left a legacy of blankets, sweaters and scarves with her family.  Phyllis also loved sports, she was an early Calgary Flames season ticket holder and enjoyed following golf.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Craig (Valerie), and her daughters, Susan and Brenda (Brian). Phyllis is also survived by her grandchildren, Erin (Blair), Colleen (Nic), Allan (Amber), Karin, Christopher and Kennedy; and great-grandchildren, Blake, Kayla, Adora, Milo and Alice. Mom also leaves behind her daughters-of-the-heart, Rachelle and Deb Adie.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband of sixty-six years, Arthur in 2019, and her son Scott. Phyllis was also predeceased by her sister Norma and brother Vernon; and her son-in-law Dave Lemmon.  

The family is grateful to the many people who have helped Phyllis (and Art too) to have such excellent care as they transitioned from their home of sixty years to residing at AgeCare Glenmore and Midnapore. Special thanks to Joanne M, as you were a gift to us, we truly appreciated your loving care. Also thanks to the incredible staff at AgeCare Glenmore and Midnapore.
