Condolences
Dear Judy and Family,
I was saddened to read of Perky's passing in today's Calgary Herald. A lifetime has passed since I last saw her when we were all students at King Edward School. Although I forget how she came to be called 'Perky', it certainly seemed fitting for her personality! I appreciated reading her obituary and seeing her lovely photo. Best wishes to all of you as you live in the legacy of light left by Perky, a truly exquisite and remarkable woman.
With sincere condolences,
Marlene (Bakkan) Harris
Perky and I were friends from the time we entered nurses' training at the Holy Cross Hospital in 1964. There were seven of us who became and remain close friends. We were roommates for a while after graduation and she went on to doing other things with her life as she had discovered that nursing wasn't what she wanted to do. I was one of her bridesmaids when she married Terry and we have shared many stories of her children and grandchildren over the past 55 years. I will miss her and want her whole family to know how much we grieve her death. Faye
Carol was such a lovely to neighbour to have while growing up, whether helping me with their copy of our house key when locked out, lending me halloween costumes or, most memorable of all, making homemade personalized quilts for both my boys when they were born. You were a wonderful lady and will be very missed.
