Obituary of Vikki Lynn ROACH (nee Chalmovansky)

August 1, 1935 – Duchess, Alberta
March 21, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Vikki Roach, beloved wife of Colin George Roach of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the age of 84 years with her husband and daughter by her side. She was in the process of recovering from broken hip surgery when her vital organs failed. 

Vikki was born in Duchess, AB, the youngest daughter of Anthony and Emily Chalmovansky with older sisters Emelee and Rose. After her high school graduation in Brooks, she moved to Calgary to increase her education level and start her working career initially in the Insurance industry, followed by the Oil and Gas exploration companies and culminating with the last twenty-one years with Air Canada before retiring in 2000. She was a person with a lot of psychological and physical activity in her life, focusing on curling, artwork, fitness, gardening and a great passion with her spiritual life. Much quality time was spent with our grandchildren who she inspired by sharing her thoughts with them along with many trips she organized in Canada along with a never forgotten trip to Jamaica. As they matured in life and age they were all extremely grateful for her time and energy. Thanks to her employment with Air Canada the whole family enjoyed worldwide trips. 

Besides her loving husband, Colin of forty-five years, she is also survived and much-loved by her daughter Katherine and son Don (Claudine). She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Kristin, Michael, Tiffany, Nicole, and Novah; and great-granddaughter Ariella who she held in her arms with great joy while in hospital four days prior to her passing. Ariella was a wonderful gift for her to enjoy.

Her family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the management and staff at The Manor Village in Shawnee for their superb care, attention that they gave and shared with Vikki while there, it added to the quality of her life.
