Condolences
Roy's strength and depth of character made an immediate impression on me when I began attending at Southwood Church. One half of a dynamic duo serving God, family and church. He is an inspiration and I look forward to seeing him again in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
Vance family, We had a lot of fun and good times 5 pin bowling together. Miss those days. God Bless
Ken and Monica Pivarnyik
Our sincere condolences to you, Doris, and family. I got to know Roy when we use to make sandwiches at Southwood church for the homeless. Sometimes he had a story to tell that made us laugh. May you be comforted knowing he’s with our Jesus and good Lord. Don and Marilyn Talbot.
It is with my sincere sympathies to you Doris(Mrs Vance),Heather,Belinda,Wayne,Jimmy,Spouses, and Grand-kids.
I Met Mr Vance (Roy) in the late 1960s-70s,on the Army base (Sarcee,PMQ),thru his son Wayne,Jimmy,Belinda ,Heather.
Roy (Mr Vance) was one of my first minor hockey coaches, he also enjoyed other sports and played with all us kids on the base.I will always remember that Mr Vance would be there for a ride to practices and games."Don't be late McArthur! "rang in my ears, when I asked for a ride.
Also fond memories of our annual spring weekend golf tournament with the Foresters. Roy would have to put up with us boys Wayne, Jimmy ,Son-in-law Danny and me, Guess who kept score.
Roy was a very Proud Husband,Father,Grandfather.and Soldier.& Legend Member. As one of the Honorary Military/Legend Flag Bearers at Calgary Flames Home games,I was always Proud to say Hey I know that Man!
To you Doris(Mrs Vance),The VANCE family,My heartfelt deepest sympathies, And to YOU MR VANCE(ROY),we will meet again at the 19th hole cheers RIP..Douglas J McArthur
