So sorry to hear the shocking news about Matt.
I knew him quite well after working with him for 11 years. A very intelligent person, and very complex. Definitely NOT your average guy. He had many plans for the future and a passion for learning that is uncommon in most people, so it's doubly tragic that this fate should befall him way way too early. I learned a lot from him, honestly.
He was an incredible machine operator and he knew more about heavy equipment than anybody. Electronics, aircraft, all manner of transportation, computers, fishing, he thought broadly and often, and also had superb taste in music.
Such a unique and kind-hearted individual, there was really no one like him.
Sincere condolences to Rutchie and his beloved daughter Rita, and all of Matt's family...
