My loving Kochama
My thoughts go back to the time I was living with you and Achyan in Calcutta. How lucky I was to receive all that love and care for 3 years. Then I was in Madras and you would come spend time with me and Susan. You have even rode with me on my scooter to go and visit people. When we moved to USA you came and stayed with us when Anju was born and helped us so much. Subsequently you have blessed not only us but Susan's brother and family and several other friends with your presence several times over the years. You were the loving CanadaAmmachi/CanadaKochama for all who knew you. You made an impression on whoever came in touch with you. These memories will always stay in our minds and hearts.

"Canada Kochamma," as she was known to us, was a very dear person to everyone in our family. Whenever she visited relatives in Kansas City, she would always come to Iowa and spend a few days with us. When she was in Iowa, she would also visit other friends of ours here and keep in touch with them.
She would always bring some presents and two of her paintings hang on the walls of our house today. We still have her favorite singing fish 'Big Mouth Billy Bass' that used to sing "Be happy, don't worry..."
She arranged for us to visit her at her daughter's vacation home in Whitefish, Montana and we still remember our visit with her to Glacier National Park.
We were able to meet her in 2016 and were planning a visit in June 2020.
Kochamma was a witness to her faith in Christ in all that she did and to all who came in contact with her. Her life of faith, hope and love was an encouragement to all who met her. We knew her as a "Prayer Warrior" and her life has influenced all of us in our journey of life. Her life was one of dedication, caring and service to those in need.
We pray that her soul will rest in everlasting peace.

It's with heavy heart I write this, our dear Kunjammachi no more. She was the eldest among Mamachan's children. She was more than my mom's sister. I remember my childhood days when she visiting us in Mavelikara, the colorful ribbons, safety pins, hairclips etc brought for us. Then, for our marriage in Colaba, she was able to attend. Again, she visited us when we were in Kalwa, Thane. She stayed with us for two days, beautiful memories that are still in our minds. Her cheerfulness and life motivated me to be like her.
Our daughter, Jovita, was able to see her when she visited her in Calgary. I don't know what to write about her, she was a strong woman of faith and motivation. She fought a good fight of faith, a woman of righteousness and self-confidence.
Lord gave her a fruitful long life and she lived to see four generations.
She was a blessing to all of us, and as we say goodbye remember her fondly.
Heartfelt condolences to the entire family.

"Mothers are the people who know us the best and love us the most"' is most appropriate to Kunjamachi, Mrs.Mariam Jacob.
Even though she is our mother's sister, she is like our own mother. We remember her first and last visit to our residence at Immanuel Mar Thoma parsonage in 2003, while we were ministering at Texas. Our daughters Navya and Remya still remember her aesthetic sense and keen observation skill. While sitting and talking in the living room, she asked for a needle and thread. To our surprise she started stitching the cushion's quit sewing portion very meticulously.Even at the age of 88, she was dynamic to exhibit her talent and ability. Her four days stay with us still and will always cherish our memory.
Kunjamachi, we would say, your life was marvelous, witness splendid, words inspiring, presence influential, thoughts powerful, laughter enjoyable and End very glorious.
It is written for you and of you,"Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness like the stars for ever" (Daniel:12:3)
May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding guard the hearts and minds of Mollyammama, Lillyammama and other family members.
May the God of life and death bless the last journey of Kunjamachi to the shore of Eternity.
With fond remembrance and prayers,
Jose Achen, Litty, Navya & family, and Remya.
On 15th evening , I heard that our Beloved Kunjamachi is no more....It was difficult to comprehend, because after not seeing her for years, last seen her on my mom’s last days...(her youngest sister in 2005). This was unexpected. However, death has a weight of finality. When someone you love dies, one gets the feeling that the world should stop – take a solemn moment – remember one who has walked this earth and touched our lives.
Kunjamachi was a great figure throughout my childhood, all my life and adolescence — I’ll always remember her for her energy, for being so fun, for being someone I could always talk to, for being such a good person. Really … I’ve rarely known someone as good at heart as her, and I’ll miss the love, care and support she gave me and the rest of the family, especially my mom, Grace, with great bonding.
The Rs 50 she gave me to buy the form for Engineering, with her blessings shaped my life and the accomplishments.
I’d like to honor my Kunjamachi with a brief reflection. Words cannot capture the fullness of her life. She gave birth to 3
children and ‘mothered’ many more, it did not define the extent of her accomplishments.
Remember the day when she lost her beloved husband our Parekatil Appachen in 1972, she was brave to accept the shock and loneliness. then she migrated to Canada with her Elder daughter, but her frequent visits to all her siblings and their children in India with love and care... These are the units to measure the worth of a person.
Her only son died as an infant. While I never recall it showing outwardly, I can’t imagine one with such a heart for children that didn’t carry a private grief.
While these memories makes obvious why I think the world should stop and pay their respects to a great woman, this is not her best. The best fruit of her life is that all her children walk with god.
We had a wonderful aunt; One who never really grew old, even at 105. Her smile was made of sunshine.
I don’t think Kunjamachi topped 5’, but there is no doubt that she stood tall in our lives!
I close my eyes as I wipe a tear.
I just keep wishing you were still alive
I will hold all the memories deep in my heart.Through these memories we'll never part. “ Ammachi, you always say with honor and proud that I am press Mammechen’s daughter.” We will miss that voice again....
These bible verses are dedicated to you, Kunjamachi....
Proverbs 31: 10, 25-31
“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”
Love you Ammachi...

Mumbai, May 22, 2020.
Mariam Jacob - our beloved KUNJAMMACHI - finished her long marathon race of 105 years and has gone. But Ammachi will live in our fond memories and thoughts for ever !
Ammachi's positive views of life and encouraging words such as .." If A can do B can also do." is unforgettable. She was a woman of God with deep faith and fervent prayer .Her zeal for gospel was commendable !
When we met last , in September2018, then also she was so happy and enthusiastic to share her life testimony with a bit of humour and laughter which was so inspiring and soul touching !!
Time has come to accept the reality of life.
Bid a glorious Farewell to Kunjammachi with the hope of meeting again at the beautiful shore of eternity !!
Heartfelt Condolences to the bereaved Dear and Near Ones .May the heavenly peace be with you all !
With Love and Prayers,
George Kutty & Geetha Family.
I am Jacob Philipose. But for the belly dance of Mr. Covid-19 and Miss. Corona around us, this tribute would have been on a different keel.
About 25 years back, my wife Annie and I have moved to Calgary after retirement. One of our friends invited us to attend a charismatic prayer meeting. Bible study was part of this prayer group. The leader of this bible study was a person named Mrs Mariam Jacob who was affectionately called Ammachi by everybody there.
We were introduced to Ammachi as newcomers to the city. That casual acquaintance has developed into a bonded friendship that lasted till the wee hours of May 15, 2020. Dr Elizabeth called me early in the morning informing us that Ammachi has gone home to meet her Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ.
Ammachi told me a few years after I met her that since my first name and her last name being the same she was going to adopt me as her son. Several times she has expressed this "adoption" in public, much to the discomfort of her daughters Elizabeth and Lilly.
Ammachi was very meticulous about her attire. She wore a saree with matching blouse, sweater, ornaments, shoes, socks and handbags, all selected with precision and taste. Perhaps, William Shakespeare had Ammachi in mind when he wrote "Hamlet" where he said, " He (nay She) was the glass of fashion, the mould of form, the observed of all observers, the courtier's soldier's eye tongue and sword".
Friends, Calgarians and people around the world watching, we are not here to bury a Caesar. We are here to celebrate the triumphant entry of a Colossus to her new abode in heaven. Being a former Army Officer, my thoughts have gone wild when I visualized the military precision with which Jesus has executed the triumphant entry of Ammachi through the Golden Gate.
On May 15, 2020, all the heavenly hosts woke up when Archangel Gabriel blew his trumpet loud-sounding last post, retreat, reveille followed by the angels singing the hymn "Hallelujah, here comes Mariam. During this holy commotion, Peter asked Jesus "Lord, why did you bypass me in this entry contrary to the regular routine? Why was this extension of a quarter-century more than the allocated three scores and ten plus ten?" Jesus pointed out to a heavenly mansion, which took those extra years for completion. Jesus said, "This mansion will be known from henceforth as Mariam Mansion. Mariam is another name for Mary, my earthly mother. Mariam has preached the good news to all around her without rest. She deserves an honoured status here. Peter, you hurry up. Marium is already at the entrance gate." Peter couldn't believe his eyes about events happening at the entrance. A dozen Archangels lead by their chief, Michael, holding their glittering swords to form an arch through which Mariam is entering in slow marching speed. Jesus asked Thomas to personally welcome Mariam because she is one of Thomas's folk: the proud daughter of a St. Thomas Syrian Christian named Mammachen. In the background sound of 24 guns salute can be heard in intervals of one minute each. "BREATHE ON ME, BREATH OF GOD, TILL I AM WHOLLY THINE, UNTIL THIS EARTHLY PART OF ME, GLOWS WITH THY FIRE DIVINE".
Goodbye my fair lady, till we meet again at the golden gate in the near future.
AMEN
When I left Calgary in Aug 2016, I thought I would be back to Calgary from Kuwait by the end of 2019, which was the scheduled completion date of the project. Again last August, last visited Ammachi, my mind-set was the same, that I will be back to Calgary and see Ammachi again. The plan of God was different.
Still, thank God, that I could spent lots of time with Ammachi, talking about the past. After my Immigration to Calgary, especially Manu and Joel are very lucky to spent many occasions with Ammachi, also every occasion we as family have celebrated. She was very keen on explaining her experience in God and how she had sustained every difficult situations. Believing in God and Optimism was her slogan. Children were always very encouraged by Ammachi's words.
I am sure, she will continue to celebrate with her dear son, brothers and sisters in heaven.
Chotu will be missing Ammachi for the daily happy hour
Upholding Moliammamma and Lillyammamma and rest of family in prayers.
I hope there will be a memorial service, once COVID is over. Hope I will share my experience during the Memorial service.
Pray that funeral will be viewed by every one around world without any technical problems.
With Prayers,
Tito,
Kuwait.
Will be greatly missed, but THANK YOU for our many many conversations on my lunch break. Your laugh was electric, your personality infectious, and I am more than thankful to have known you all these years. Every visit was so enjoyable and I will never forget it. Lincy Mathew
