Condolences
Wendy was a true friend to our whole family, a friendship that transcended time and space, from our early childhood in Edmonton to young adulthood in Montreal and thence to various cities beyond over the decades. When next we met after years, it was like we had never parted.
Odd what strikes one and stays in the memory; as a child how I coveted her beautiful mukluks, works of functional art, that her dad had brought back from his travels as a bush pilot. And as an adult she was the only person I knew that could open up a sheet of music she’d never seen before and play it on the piano. She was a confident, capable woman with a kind and loving spirit.
We are so lucky that she chose us and that we got to share in this wonderful woman’s life. My sympathy to all of Wendy’s family and friends at this sad time of mourning her loss.
Margaret Doyle,
It was with great sadness that I received the news of Wendy's sudden illness and the end of her life. We met at the age of 3 years and were able to maintain contact and our friendship since that time. Some of her traits I greatly valued were her friendliness, inquisitiveness, caring and fun loving nature. My sincere condolences to her family, children and grandchildren as they say goodbye to their matriarch.
It is with profound sadness that our family has learned of Wendy's passing, and we send our sincere condolences to each of her children at this sad time. Wendy was our neighbour for more than 30 years, and our boys grew up with her children. Wendy taught us every thing we needed to know about the CBE and how to parent our way through the maze. Wendy was a very dear friend and we will miss her greatly. Sincerely, Adele and Jack Ingram, Brett and Andrea (Paola and Isabela) Ingram, and Jay (Lucy) Ingram.
Wendy and I were in the Nursing Class of 1972 at the Calgary General Hospital. She was always eager to tell a good story and have a great laugh. Wendy was a kind person and generous with her time. She was proud of her children and I enjoyed hearing about her family at the many reunions of the Class of ‘72. Rest In Peace my friend. Leah
Wendy and I were classmates at CGH School of Nursing and also lived on the same floor in residence. Very fond memories of our nursing years. So happy to see her at our 45th nursing reunion in 2017. I would like to be notified of any future service. My sympathy and condolences to her children, grandkids and brothers. Lorraine Moppett
According to my mother one of the first people to knock on our door when we moved to Edmonton from Texas in 1953 was Wendy. She was a member of the household for many years after that. She might as well have been a sibling. I saw her last here in Connecticut for my niece's wedding.and I remember thinking you are one of us.
