Hugh was always a kind and sweet gentleman, even when we unknowlngly asked him to carry the flag of the Irish Republic during our Parade of Nations missions weekend! He carried it with a smile on his face. Always gracious and a joy to be with. We will miss his quick wit and the twinkle in his eye. Heaven is richer for his presence and we will are truly blessed to have known him.
We will miss Hugh's Irish accent, his broad smile, his chuckle, but most of all his loving understanding of others. He was shaped by the forgiveness and kindness of God toward him; he was a tireless evangelist who wanted nothing more than to assure others that God has made a way for us all to be in a loving father-child relationship with him through his Son Jesus - John 3:16-17. However, we also celebrate with Hugh his presence with the Lord and reunion with his beloved sweetheart, Joan. He's at home now!
A great man of God who touched the lives of many. I will always value our friendship and the memories of times we spent together sharing in the Gospel.
So very sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. He was a great man of God and a wonderful preacher. I so enjoyed listening to him. He will be missed by many but Heaven has gained a lot.
Another saint has left his earthly home. We shall meet again in heaven. You will be missed Hugh. Well done good and faithful servant. Thank you for sharing your love and acceptance to us. You were certainly "Jesus with skin on" to us. Praying for all of your wonderful family.
