Ken was a very dedicated fellow. Whatever he did he strove for perfection but he had a sense of humour. I recall a time when Karin (Gerry's sister) and Ken and I drove to Yellowstone for a bit of a holiday. There were Grizzly bears there and later that night there was a growling and scratching on our tent. My wife Karin and I were starting to panic when Karin thought " I'll bet that's Ken". She was right so we had a good laugh about it. Later in life he had a motorcycle and I remember wishing I was closer so we could go riding together. The trip to Banff is a beautiful ride on a bike!
I am sad that he is no longer with us, but while here he did make a difference to all that knew him.

Gerry and family ; We are so sorry for your loss . Ken was one of a kind and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him for many years . He had at least one joke per day , was usually in a very good humor most of the time and was easily the most connected person @ RBC . Nothing happened that he didn't hear about and he kept me informed about new events ie transfers . This continued to happen even after retirement for both of us. He will be sorely missed by many people.

Gerry and family, I am so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. Ken was a great boss to work for at Gaetz & Piper (although trying to read his handwriting was always a challenge) to being a mentor to me later in our careers when we worked together again in Calgary. My thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time. Cheryl (Binning) Mitchell
Gerry, I am so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. I’m sure you know how much of a mentor he was to so many. At 9309 McLeod Trail branch he was not just the boss but the man who helped so many business owners at a dreadful economic time in Calgary. Today’s bankers could take a few lessons from him for sure. He knew that everyone deserved a chance - but he made sure you only got one - no exceptions. That’s what made him special. I cherish every minute of the time I worked for him. He was a boss, mentor, friend and advisor - everything a young person needed at that time of their lives.
My love to you and your family at this difficult time. Bart Demosky.
Three decades ago I first met Ken as an efficient handyman for his mother-in-law, Corrie, my friendly neighbor. I soon welcomed his common sense comments on financial decisions I was considering. Then I discovered Ken to be politically astute, freely offering commentary that was not only insightful but more importantly, suggestive of positive alternatives that citizens could consider... his frequent letters to the editor will be missed.
I know Ken as a dedicated family man with solid values and caring actions. We enjoyed sharing memories of our world travels and discussing future destinations. A GOOD MAN. Rest in peace Ken Albert . Ron Pearpoint
Gerry I am so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. Whenever I think of Ken, it is always how positive and upbeat he was and you could not help but share a chuckle. Know that I am thinking about you and your family. Know also how you were such a pleasure to work with over the years and you brightened everyone’s day. Larry Revitt
I was so sorry to hear of Kens passing. He was a wonderful colleague and a great part of the RBC family. I enjoyed meeting him for beers shortly after retirement in Kauai. My sincere condolences..... Thinking of you and your family during this time. Anne Hergott
