Condolences
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Cora. I have many happy childhood memories growing up with Alana and that's how I was blessed to have met Cora. That first time, I came over to their house in Parkland, I was immediately greeted by Cora. She was totally cool and relaxed and told me to make myself at home and immediately offered me a drink and something to eat. It was so easy to feel comfortable with Cora. You could totally be relaxed as a teenager around her, It was fun to to be a free spirit with her. Cora was like a second Mom to me and I was always welcomed with a big smile and a fun chat. I will never forget Cora's hospitality and generosity. I remember she would offer Ken & I a table full of chocolates. She knew Ken had a sweet tooth and I think she offered us all the sweets she had in the house. She was like that and that’s part of the many reasons why she was my mother’s closest and dearest friend for many years. She was a giving type of soul and her friendship meant so much to our family. We keep you all in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
God bless Alana and the Macohonic family during this time...
I absolutely loved visiting Cora and her family when I was a teenager. I went to school with her daughter, Alana. Cora was an excellent hostess. She was never too busy to say hello and ask how my family was doing. She would joke and tease and always made me feel right at home, just like family. She would entertain us with her stories and show us gorgeous photos of herself when she herself was a teenager. I always admired how young-at-heart Cora was. I miss Cora...
Cora was a long-time friend of our family for 40+ years; she was a very loyal and thoughtful friend... I cherish the memories of her friendship.
My mother, Norma, said that she and Cora used to love going out for dinner together at Swiss Chalet. Swiss Chalet was Cora's favorite restaurant.
My Aunt Cora and I were delinquents when we were together. LOL. We didn't follow the rules and we got caught breaking the rules and the nurses would laugh at us. I am going to miss being bad with my aunt as we had the best times together. My condolences to my cousins, and to all of her family members.
