Obituary of Cora Elaine MACOHONIC

May 22, 1945 – Milden, Saskatchewan
May 28, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

The family of Cora Macohonic (nee Demers) express their deep sadness of her passing on Thursday, May 28, 2020. 

Cora worked for a few years at the hospital in Killam, AB before she was married. After moving from Camrose and settling down in Calgary, she spent many years working at senior nursing homes while raising her family. Family meant everything to Cora. She loved a full home, surrounded by friends and family, sharing her love and passion through food, whether it was baking pastries or a home cooked meal for her loved ones. Cora loved to listen to music and was known to crank up her stereo often, talking on the phone, and also watching her favorite soap Y&R. She also adored her dog Princess, and loved spending time with her.

Cora will be lovingly remembered by her three children; Shawna (Cam), Warren, Alana; grandchildren Tyler, Ryan; stepson Wayne (Connie) Hajdasz and his family; her brother Ed Demers, as well as many relatives and friends. Cora was predeceased by her husband Patrick in 2017, parents Ann (2005) and Esmond (1968), and brother Harvey (1974). 

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place in Camrose, Alberta at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Cora’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.  

The family would like to thank the staff at Age Care Seton for all their care and compassion with Cora over the years, as well as the Doctors and Nursing Staff at the South Health Campus for her care and endless support during her decline and illness.
